Is it true that Calzaghe is trying to get the best LH ever Michael Spinks out of retirement?
The Pensioner-killer sorry, Lenged-killer is not finished yet.
wow, i dont know about this guys, Calzaghe is out of his prime, his hands are weak, and he is facing a LH Legend who is arguably in his prime, but i think Joe can adapt
Calzaghe would have retired after his first loss To RJJ.
Then his dad would be cleaning shit out of toilets; something he would be doing had his son not been a pro boxer.
Er.. Yea?
Just saying it how it is.
about 46 fights, 41 nobodies, bums and cab drivers, 3 old men, 1 horrendously overrated and 1 in his prime.
Edit forgot Eubank, thats 3 old men
Facts are Facts.
Roy Jones was dangerously KTFO 5 years prior to their bout. TWICE.
Any version of Calzaghe would have never lost to Tarver, and Johnson, especially by KO.
He should have retired long long ago.
Damn right.
but if a shadow of the shadow of his former self can knockdown Joe in the first round.
He's not a shadow of a shadow. He still has power and speed, but his age, KO losses, and long career have caught up with him. I would say he is 60% of what he was. Anything lower is just an exaggeration. Jones was never a god.
IMO, Prime v Prime, only difference would be Joe would stay down.
Calzaghe didn't even take the fight with Jones seriously. If he was fighting a prime Jones, he would have fought a better fight. He fought with his hands at his waist the whole fight, while Jones spent most of it in a shell.
As with Prime Hopkins, he would probably keep Joe down in the 1st aswell.
Joe was never in the same class as Prime Hopkins/RJJ.
An out of prime Joe, beat an out of prime Hopkins. An in prime Joe, does the same against an in prime Hopkins.
Joe isn't no joke.
Jesus ****ing Christ.
Vinny Pazienza or what.

Prime Calzaghe vs Prime Jones is a close fight. Anybody who disagrees is a hater, or a nuthugger.
No man, i've seen Roy counter people in his prime. Calzaghe is easy to counter as both his biggest fights indicates. I think Roy wins easy unless Calzaghe could adapt and i'm not saying change stance. You can argue Calzaghe was not in his prime too but i can then say, what man not in his prime throws so many punches?
end of thread....go back to page 1 through...let's see now...26, and majority of the posts consisted of roy trumping joe, and it didn't happen, so as usual, the whole prime debate comes tinfold...re, your boy lost---get over it...he got dominated in fact--and roy jones is my 4th favorite fighter ever...joe cal, didn't even crack top 30 for me as my favorite fighters....roy knocked him down with his forearm in round 1 and then he was dominated....i don't see joe beating roy in roy's prime either but i don't bring that up because of how roy lost how he did...johnson knocked roy out, and so did tarver---you guys tralk about this prime shit...that's what i don't get...before the fight---your fighter is too good to lose--after he does lose--then the excuses come out to play....the same thing goes when floyd beats somebody---it's always excuses---if these guys are past their prime after they lose---why do they keep fighting and claiming that they are in great shape and they feel so young and all that other shit...
it cracks me up...maybe, now just maybe, the fighter they lost to was just the one to age them, because of how good he was....hmmmmmm....i'll go with that one....hopkins beat up pavlik when he was in his 40s....what does that say about hopkins? or pavlik for that matter? is hop just that damn good---or was kelly just that damn bad? or was kelly just that damn good until running into hop, who showed just how bad he is? maybe roy just met his match once again.....
This was a joke thread... thank you for taking it seriously.
I made a realistic in depth thread about roy-joe before the fight in which i clearly stated in conclusion Joe should win the fight.
THanks.
The ass whopping Joe gave Roy still clearly hurts his fans. :lol1:end of thread....go back to page 1 through...let's see now...26, and majority of the posts consisted of roy trumping joe, and it didn't happen, so as usual, the whole prime debate comes tinfold...re, your boy lost---get over it...he got dominated in fact--and roy jones is my 4th favorite fighter ever...joe cal, didn't even crack top 30 for me as my favorite fighters....roy knocked him down with his forearm in round 1 and then he was dominated....i don't see joe beating roy in roy's prime either but i don't bring that up because of how roy lost how he did...johnson knocked roy out, and so did tarver---you guys tralk about this prime shit...that's what i don't get...before the fight---your fighter is too good to lose--after he does lose--then the excuses come out to play....the same thing goes when floyd beats somebody---it's always excuses---if these guys are past their prime after they lose---why do they keep fighting and claiming that they are in great shape and they feel so young and all that other shit...

Kidding.....
The orlybirds! What makes me mad about Calzaghe is when some writers say, referring to Jones "...but it's no shame losing to Calzaghe, an ATG" and in the same breath they DENY those honors to people like Mosley, Toney and the likes, people who actually fought prime opposition, people who beat RJJ in his prime, people who beat terminator Margarito when they were supposed to lose giving place to a rematch aka tuneup, those are not ATG, Joe Calzaghe is!? This is outrageous. It's propaganda to try and elevate outside of the rings someone who couldn't elevate himself inside, it has happened before and it will happen again. To think Ricky Hatton could be in that same position had he fought 43 year old Mayweather or 40 year old Manny Pacquiao... How good would that be for boxing? Because even his fans know he's way overrated. People who aren't particular fans see this supposed ATG fighting and think "wow, i'ma stick to mma, if this guy is the best boxing has i'm having none of this boxing shit". Then you have networks closing and shows canceled not able to sell. MMA has no such problems, much on the contrary, they expanding.
Roy beats Calzaghe prime-for-prime (probably by KO) but Calzaghe gives him a fight while it lasts... His style makes him awkward for anyone, and he is actually better than people give him credit for around here
Punches?
I think your obviously a joe nut hugger.
 :D
No way Roy would have fought Joe C 45 times, he'd have rather fought Bryant Brannon 45 times instead. :lol1:
