After an impressive fight between Cotto and Margarito how would you rate a Paul Williams fight for Cotto?
Can Cotto pull this win or will it be another Margarito vs Cotto re-peat due to Williams size advantage?
I believe Cotto can win this fight, but I am looking for opinions.

Yea, I read about him keeping his uncle. I just hope his uncle steps up, and stops observing his nephew train across the gym.
Guys like Taylor who taste defeat suddenly even admit to questioning themselves a bit afterwards. And Remember Hatton's reaction to HIS first loss? It took weeks before he could even watch the footage of his KO. Then when he fought Lazcano, Lazcano tried the same hook Mayweather used to knock Hatton out, what'd Mayweather call it? 'Chip hook'?
I'm sure that triggered something in Hatton cause he was holding on and almost went down against Lazcano.
I know Cotto isn't Hatton, Taylor, or anyone else, but I read about how he couldn't answer questions after the fight cause he broke out in tear walking back to the locker room. Devistation like that is not because of external pain.
He said before the Marg fight that Marg would be #33 win for him. Probably the closest he came to talking junk. He believed one thing and something else happened. Cotto's an introvert, so he won't express alot of what goes on inside.
He may seem confident all the time, but the truth is he's just as human as others like him who've taken their first loss.
I know what you mean though. I believe Cotto will regain confidence quickly.
I think one fight for him to plow someone over would be a smart thing to do before facing adversity in the ring again.
..and Williams doesn't gaurd that right side as much as Marg does. Williams stands more of an angle, so Cotto's famous left hook to the body might do some good damage if Will doesn't adjust.
yeah.. i guess we just gonna have to wait till he fights back.. to see how really did the loss affect him.... and well.. maybe im wrong and he should take an easy fight.... but like I say... i would preffer for him to go after someone big that really represents a challenge .. not just an easy one..
I Agree with this... I think he needs someone new in his corner... but he has stated .. hes not gonna change his uncle.... One thing i disagree is the confidece thing... i dont think that the loss affect him mentally as much as ppl thing... he took a beating... yeah... but he was smart enough to recognize that there was not much left to do ... not that he was scared or mentally affected... it was just a smart thing to do.... like i say... lets go for all the marbles....:boxing:

in his fight with margo.... i saw him get hit a lot with body shots.. and he just couldnt take them... base on cotto body work rate... i can see him KO him with a bodyshot... not that im puttin my neck on it.. but i think cotto's body work could do it...

Pretty good, Ray. Work has been hectic, but good. Had a blast this Saturday with my friends, and some whores over at my place to watch the Cotto vs Margarito fight. Got the day off today, and went to the driving range, hit a couple of buckets, and caught a buzz.
Life is good right now.....
:You_Rock_

That's what should happen when you talk boxing Its a great sport for everyone all this racist bullshit you see on NSB is getting very old. It is good to see a group of knowledgeable people in this thread.

i didnt even though of collazo.... and i would say... mmmm na.... he hasnt done anything... im pretty sure cotto would run him over the ring.. but hey... this is boxing.... anything can happen.. and even that i think collazo is a pussy.... "just watch the hatton fight" is high risk low reward.... lets put him with clottey.. or even judah again.... coz if he found a way to look bad against collazo his stocks will go down...
Very true....With Collazo, he doesnt have anything to worry about...You said it best anything can happen though but I think its highly unlikely!
Hmmmmm. A Cotto vs Cintron would be an interesting tune up for Cotto, I think its risky if he gets caught with a big power shot from Cintron it might backfire don't you think?
Yeah but given his ring intellengence and his effective pressure...I dont see him getting caught up...Cintron is a tad-bit overrated IMO...He folds under pressure.(just check out the J. Feliciano and Margorito fight) Cintron seems to just stop thinking when he gets pressured...Its a big name and its a fight that will restore his mental toughness. Cotto can take this fight if it happens no doubt.
I would love to see him in there with Collazo, The loser of the Clottey-Judah fight, or even Cintron. I dont think Cotto or his team will but him in with some bum though...Let him a fight a named opponent and he will be back on track.

Agreed.
Cotto's gotta face his demons now. He never doubted his abilities before Marg. If he faces someone like Nuzhnenko or someone in the top 15 first, it might boost his confidence.
And I don't understand why he doesn't get a better trainer. Going into the ring with a good man in his corner would help him, don't you think?
Not that Cotto's been doing things wrong - his record is outstanding, but it's like Miguel is facing his opponents alone. How much better would he be if he has someone pushing him in the gym, studying his upcoming opponents with him etc?

true... anyway... even that pw is bigger than margo.. i consider margo a lot stronger... and im pretty sure that miguel could work his way to the body .. but as u say...lets wait till the fight... and regarding a tune up fight...
hmmz.. i dont know man... at this stage of his career.. a "tune up" for me to him.. will be someone like i dont know at least clottey....
fuck it... hes in the big leagues so forget about that tune up shit... lets go for al lthe marbles... he doesnt have nothing to loose.. but thats my opinion...
whou do u think will be a good tune up fight?? i just cant see anyone.... that brings the $$ for the challenge

Williams isnt gonna be walking through those shots like Margarito did
I can see Cotto breaking him down with body shots to win
Thats if he can get passed that lanky bastards Jab
That might be a bad match-up for Cotto given his situation...He needs a confidence builder type of fight before he fights the likes of the Elite at 147. You're trying to rush him into something he might not be ready for (mentally not ready)
Agreed.
