Cintron never had control of any part of the fight the way Cotto did. Yes he landed some big shots, but that was about it. Cotto landed big shots, and also outboxed him for the entire first half of the fight. So no, his performance was not admirable.
So now boxing ability and control are what's admirable? Care to change your vote? :spankme:
I Never said that's what constitutes a "admirable" performance. U just did. Im only making a point of how Cintron was COMPLETELY outclassed by Margarito. What's admirable about that???
We'll just leave it at this.....you made my arguement for me.
So if there's a fight where one guy is getting completely dominated for 9 rounds, then turns it around with one punch and knock his opponent TFO in the 10th, would his performance NOT be considered admirable due to the fact that he was never in control of the fight, with the exception of the KO?
wow dude...wow
Because the only difference between Cintron and Cotto's performances is that at one point one was actually controlling the fight because of boxing ability.
So, now follow me here, if Cintron's performance is not admirable and Cotto's performance is then it stands to reason that the only difference in the two fights (control via boxing ability) would be the reason it was admirable.
See what I did there?

BTW...Cintron blasted Margarito with some big shots only to fold under the pressure as well. Was his performance admirable?

Everytime i respond/answer one of your questions, it only gets followed up with more questions. This is my thread, not yours! lol
I already answered your first question in #173
you haven't....unless you consider fighting a bigger man to be the answer
As for your second question, i feel Cotto's performance against Mosley was just as admirable as his performance against Margarito, although Cotto's offensive display was more impressive in his fight with Margarito.
First, Cotto's offensive display was greater against Margarito because Marg has NO DEFENSE.
Second, a losing performance where a fighter tries to execute a poor game plan and quits is NOT more admirable than a winning performance where the correct game plan is executed.
Fight against Mosley > Margarito
You're under the impression that a fighter has to "win" in order for his performance to be considered "admirable"
I'm not under the impression that a fighter has to win in order for his performance to be admirable. His performance was admirable just not more so than Floyd's against Baldo.

wtf kind of question is this? How about rate Cotto's against Marg to Floyd's against Coralles....coralles was p4p top 5 at the time..He didnt even lay a glove on Floyd...That was a stellar performance compared to Cotto's against Marg.
Im comparing those 2 fights because they were both fought at WW against much bigger men.
Floyd's against Baldomir, or Cotto's against Margarito?
Vote.

Pretty much EVERYONE knows who Floyd is since his fight with Gatti, yet most casual and diehard fans STILL dont like him. Tyson's DESTRUCTION of the undisputed HW champ Michael Spinks is a better than any of Floyd's wins!
Which is my point. Floyd is a great fighter who is actually a good person outside the ring and people hate him. Tyson is a mental midget inside and outside the ring, a convicted rapitst, and bit a man's ear off in a boxing match and people love him. fans = stupid
Spinks is tough for me to consider a great win. He has a couple decision wins over Holmes and no other fights after his loss to Tyson. He was a great LHW but I just don't think he was great HW.
What excuse? Floyd fought the best for most of his career and yeah when he got to 147 he went away from that. Nobody is saying he fought the best WW's.
But, Floyd has done things other fighters haven't. After his controversial win over JLC he gave him a rematch like 10 months down the line. Did Cotto give Mosley a rematch?
And your Tyson analogy is way off base. People knew Tyson when he was a teenager and liked him because he was a HW with one punch KO power. When Floyd was up and coming and taking out guys in impressive fashion nobody knew who he was because he was fighting at 130. You knock PBF's competition, but Tyson's best win doesn't make Floyd's top 5.

Thank you! Most Floyd fanatics will never admit that.

Cotto's win over Mosley was more decisive than Floyd's over Castillo. Most people who saw that fight had Castillo winning the fight. Even Shane admitted he was beaten by the better fighter that night
