Lampley clearly biased

By the end of the fight, I was pretty buzzed and didn't notice Lampley. Was he really choked up in seeing Cotto lose?...

Lampley was ridiculous during and after the fight. When the punchstat numbers came up after the fight, he mentioned that Cotto "dominated" Margarito and "outboxed him round after round after round". Every time Cotto threw a flurry, he would go nuts, while Margarito's body shots were called as "wild shots mostly blocked by Cotto." Get a torrent of the fight and watch it again, Lampley's bias is incredible. I wasn't rooting for either fighter, but it was distracting.

I was too busy yelling and cheering to hear the announcers but I believe it. I still think Cotto could beat Mayweather, Tony's chin was just unreal in that fight. He took punches from Cotto that would've dropped a horse. Marg's chin reminds me of Durans or Haglers. It was just crazy the shots he was taking. People say Cotto did this or that wrong but really he just couldn't hurt Tony and once they both realized that it was downhill from there...

He damn near bit of Manny's and Maxs head when they questioned Cottos Stamina..Seriously though we were all disgusted by his biased commentating...It got to the point cotto would miss or marg would block punches..Jim would damn near wet himself.. It kind of seemed like if he was watching a whole different fight at times..Either way Cotto and Marg are warriors IMO. I think a few rounds Marg would steal with his late attacks...

Just watch Barrera v.s Morales 3 he was so on Barreras side everytime Morales would do good he would be all like "ugh! now it seems like Morales will win this round!" with an attitude and litteraly cheering for Barrera all like "he needs to hit Morales harder!!" stuff like that lol haha.

yea I was saying this to my buddy when we were watching. everything he said was positive towards cotto.. his bias was very obvious.

It's cause HBO wants/needs a new star. Cotto was young, and unbeaten. Alot easier to sell then a 30 year old with 5 losses. True, they had spent a lot of time grooming Cotto to be one of the next HBO boxing stars. Makes me even happier with the result.

Lampley rarely acknowledged any of Tonys good work, and really got silent when he was handing Cotto his ass. He was nearly having orgasms everytime Cotto threw. It was pretty sad, yet still wasnt worse than Winky Taylor

Cotto was comfortably ahead before he got knocked out. That would be your opinion. Officially he wasn't winning on any of the judges cards.

my friend pointed out that between rounds they always showed super slow motion replays of cotto landing shots on margarito. they never did for margarito, even if he won the round they'd show more/better cotto highlights. Very true, I noticed that also..

Lampley was awful. And the Compubox stats indicated an even fight. Compubox showed Cotto to be landing more and with greater accuracy in the first six rounds. The seventh was a big round for Margarito which was followed by four very close rounds before Margarito ended it in the eleventh. I didn't give Cotto every round in the first half of the fight but he was certainly in control and it appears as though a lot of people were giving all the close rounds in the second half of the fight to Margarito.

Lampley is getting paid to cheer on and distort fights in favor of the fighter he prefers. What he does is not commentating and he's one of the worst in the business with the crap he pulls.
