Good Fight from margarito but Williams will tear him up in a rematch.. Williams overcame adversity and defeated Quintana impressively in 1 round in the rematch..
he has a whole lot of confidence coming into the margarito Rematch, he would chew marg up and spit him out.. Why you ask? marg can't fight boxers, Cotto stayed in too long and traded he isn't a pure boxer. Williams already exposed last year with he's boxing capabilities and he's going to finish the job..
PLAIN AND BASIC COMMON SENSE
we need shane in the mix
Shane is still up there, but at this point I don't think he is willing to go where Cotto and Margarito went to win a fight, amd Margarito will take him there and have him earn a win.
so what you're saying is there are no good welterweights. Quintana isn't good, so Williams isn't good, so Margarito isn't good, so Cotto isn't good, so Mosley isn't good and on and on and on and on and on and on strollin down the boulevaaaaaaaaaard. the division is flat out shit since Floyd left is what you're saying.
Obviously Floyd was the best fighter in the division.
Cotto is very good. The fact that he was worn out by Margarito shouldn't change our estimation of him too much (assuming it was a reasonable estimation in the first place)
Mosley is an all-time great, and I'd pick him against many of the younger guys.
Margarito is dangerous.
Williams is a physical freak that can confound some fighters, not others. Cotto is a tougher fight for Williams than is Marg (Cotto is tougher than Marg foe most everyone; that Marg won head-to-head is a different story).
Clottey and Quintana are very good, but obviously a tier below Cotto and Mosley
Great point, but lets analyze this for a minute.
Of the four, Quintana was blown out twice, by Cotto and Williams. His win against Williams was by decision. I think he's at the bottom of the list of four.
Then last night, Cotto gets stopped by the Tony, who lost to Williams. This automatically drops Cotto to the number 3 spot.
Williams has beaten Tony by close decision. I thought Tony won the fight, it was close, but Tony WAS getting to him at the end. Williams was even quoted as rating Margarito's power at a 10. So that tells me Tony was starting to hurt Paul. But Paul won, so we can't make Tony the king of the division. He's probably, fairly positioned in the number 2 spot.
Right now Williams is the man at Welter. That's only fair. But Marg deserves a rematch and I think Tony stops Paul late if they fight again.
Welterweight top three
1. Paul Williams
2. Tony Margarito
3. Miguel Cotto

The only way to settle this, is a rematch between Williams and Margarito.

I think you're basing your impression of Williams on his loss to Quintana, which I see as taking a guy completely lightly. When I see Williams non-stop punching, I don't see an answer for him. Plus Mayweather is smaller than Quintana, so it's not like he could get Williams' respect.
Picking Cotto over Williams kind of makes me worry about you, especially after we saw the slowest fighter at 147 catching Cotto with all kinds of punches
That fight was the truth, a guy with good vision and sound technique picking apart an oversized late-beginner.
Williams is a physical freak but the fact he didn't learn to box as a kid is evident in every movement he makes. Quintana is second-tier, and too small for Williams, and yet gave him a clinic.
Williams is a second-tier fighter as well as a welterweight, and above 147 will be a journeyman. He simply never learned to box.
Mayweather could beat Williams without losing a round or even trying very hard. A guy who makes no mistakes and sees every one his opponents make will pick apart someone as sloppy as Williams.
Williams hitches in his punch motion, drops his hands, goes off balance, etc. Mayweather would have a field day.
I'd pick Cotto to beat Williams brutally. In fact this fight should take place. Each has one loss, to a guy the other beat. They are on even footing right now.

Floyd would beat Margarito.. In fact I think Sugar Shane has some left in the tank to beat Marggy.
Marg lost to Williams
Cotto lost to Marg
Williams lost to Quintana who Cotto beat.
There is no clear no.1.

Williams does make a lot of mistakes, but when he's in his rhythm just letting punches flow, I don't think anyone at 147 can beat him, maybe not even Floyd. I do know that would be my biggest dream fight ever. it would be so fucking weird to watch too.

jajajaja wow!!! this is so funny. are u guys joking or being serious??? margarito would end williams career in a rematch. margarito started too slow in the first one. by the 11 he actually increased the punches, and williams was ready to go down. he couldnt take it anymore. margarito learned from that mistake. if anythinh margarito beat himself in the williams fight. williams would hit margarito and margarito would laugh. come on now!!! all of u r probably the people who were saying that cotto would destroy margo. hahahah what do u do now? u rely on williams..ahahah oh man u guys are hilarious.
one round should decide fights then I guess.. Look at the 1st 7 rounds again.
Any technical fighter can figure out what 1 dimensional marg is going to do.. but its hard for a fighter to execute what Williams did.. Williams takes the rematch..
you probably think margarito is the second coming of jesus from watching him against cotto

What your saying doesn't make any sense thats like telling a Trinidad fan that they can't be a cotto fan..
Is there such thing as an all around boxing fan anymore?
Sure you can have various allegiances. But the Mayweather fans often pretend to be boxing purists, when Williams is a guy with horrid fundamentals and without serious boxing skill.
yes, even though Williams already lost to a fighter that Cotto beat and is 1-1 with that fighter. *sarcasm*
Dont matter how he beat him, Williams still lost to Quintana. To me right now, there is no clear WW king. Margo has to beat Williams in my eyes and Williams needs another win over a TOP, not a top 10 ww, but a TOP ww. That might just be Margo.
Agreed:

whew, I was afraid you would drink yourself into an alcohol induced coma last night. good to see you're dumb enough to show your face here again. still drunk?

he will just KO williams if you say he cant change your style you guys act like margarito cant KO people.
Paul and Margarito are tied atop the heap right now, when they rematch it will be decided. I think Williams blew quintana out and there's no need to relive that.
