I don't know guys, I mean, I am a Cotto fan and I just don't see him coming back after this, just will not be the same. Whenever big guys like Margarito come along he will just get beat, he was exposed. On top of that, if he doesn't beat Marg in a rematch there's no point in watching him after that, at least from my point of view, there is a lot of pride involved here, he didn't just lose, he lost against a Mexican and that's a sin in P.R. I really thought he was going to beat Marg by decision, and he was on his way, but I also thought that Marg would feel his power, guess I was wrong, if it was up to me, I wish he would just hang them up, I mean, he can beat the next 100 opponents, if he doesn't beat Marg in a rematch, he is done in my book...

Yes Cotto can bounce back. Yea he got beaten up, but its his first defeat son. Ya acting like he got knocked the fuck out. Ya people make this site look bad. Cotto knew he was tired so he took the easy way out. Plain and simple. He was exausted, and did it for his family. This was the first time he took damage like that. FIRST TIME! He will be back. Keep wishing he doesn't though, because the man is still dangerous, and that's all you can do. Talk shit about a fighter and hate and doubt. I don't quite agree with you..It sounds more like you are just defending Cotto for what happened. We all saw the fight and know what happened. Only Cotto knows why he took the knee. We can sit here and speculate as to why he took the knee. But ultimately only Cotto and his corner knows why. Just like we all know that Cotto was landing clear crips shots early in the fight and making Marg look bad is not what the threads asks. Did he have the wrong strategy against Marg? Well hindsightl, of course people will say he did. I am sure Cotto and his camp studied Margs fight film. They knew what they kind of fight they needed to fight against Marg. They knew what type of physical condition Cotto needed to be in for a fight against Marg from studying his previous fights. Come on! I hate to say it but to quote a well known threader "this is plain and common basic sense". Please don't take me wrong I have always liked Cotto. My concern is the effect of preparing for a fight like this mentally, physically has to take a toll on your psyche. Like someone on here already said. It would have been, and I'm sure some of you might disagree, preferable to have been KO'd rather than to have landed your hardest shots, won most of the fight, not been able to hurt your opponent with all of this and then taken the sustained beating that Cotto took. It has to take something out of you mentally. I am not saying Cotto will not come back, of course he will. Will he be the same? I hope he does but time will tell. If Cotto/Marg 2 happens I do not believe this is in the best interest of Cotto. Yes, I know Marg has 5 losses but I don't think they have been devastating of losses. The number of losses does not break a fighter will as much as in the manner that he loses them. I say Cotto will be back to fight another day but stay away from Marg. I like them both.
