Jones--I already questioned Calzaghe's ability to hurt Jones with his featherfisted punches, now with his wrist injury he could really be slapping all night and if Jones fully understands that this guy is injured and can't hurt me I'm going for the knockout. Plus, Joe is having legal troubles, a lot of intangibles on his side that could drag him down.
BUT "at the end of the day" both are professionals and BOTH will have NO EXCESSES, NONE, ZERO.... NOTA!!! Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Hopkins will win against Pavlik, I've just got a feeling about it. I think he will negate his power and outbox him.
As for Roy, he shouldn't beat Calzaghe but as has been said, his determination and focus may carry him through

Wait till you see Jones in 24/7. You will see some real DETERMINATION. I believe by the time that show starts there will be some REAL NERVOUS Calzaghe fans. All the shit talking they say about Roy lol. I just watched a clip of Jones with a reporter that spoke to him about all the Calzghe fans and critics and how they don't believe he can win. He just responded with (yelling) "Don't worry about me, Ya'll don't worry about me cause.... Ya'll musta forgot"! Jones is determined as if Montell Griffin just stole his belts again.... almost as if he's mad but not showing his true anger yet or something. IDK... Its like he's calling out Calzaghe like Tarver called him out.. We ALLLLLLLLL know what a HUNGRY TARVER did! We will see what a VERY HUNGRY and determined Jones jr will do....
But I think PAVLIK will just simply outwork HOP and I don't think it will be that big of a deal. So I don't see it being an upset like Jones beating Calzaghe would be. On the other hand I wouldn't mind seeing both upsets for a final good bye fight for the both of them....
That would be one hell of a way to go for the both of them. Jones>Calzaghe VS Hopkins>Pavlik
But I would say, If Jones wins over Calzaghe, that means he has legs to defeat HOP.... but over all, MAN that still would be one hell of an exit for both of them......
I think Roy will give Calz more problems than B-Hop did....at first I picked Calz to win a UD, but I've seen the light.....Roy is determined while Calz is fighting injuries and law suits.....Hopkins can beat Pavlik but I don't think he will....he's lost 3 of his last 5 fights based off his reluctance to throw punches and Pavlik isn't the type of animal you can do that with.
I wouldn't be suprised if they both won.....they're try to make their rematch big as possible....what better way can you promote a fight between two fighters in their 40's than having both defeat undefeated linear champs.....I heard them talkin

I predict a Hopkins upset as possible. Hopkins has the ability to truly frustrate an opponent and make them fight his fight.
This fight will answer a lot of questions about Pavlik. He is still young and somewhat green on the big stage and we will need to see if he can keep his composure against an opponent that will not give him anything.
If Pavlik can keep his mind on what he has to do, he will win. If he lets Bernard get to him, he will lose. Nothing more and Nothing less. If Pavlik passes the Bernard test, he will be ready for anyone.
Win or lose, this will be a great learning experince for Pavlik. He will learn more from Bernard, than he could with 10 other opponents put together.
Jones beating Calzaghe would be the much bigger upset.
Pavlik-Hopkins is a borderline pointless fight (and thank you so much for adding a $50 price tag to it). If Hopkins came back down to middleweight, the fight would have more meaning. Kelly moving up to HBOPPVweight to fight a 43-year old man whose fights haven't been watchable for years offers nothing beyond exploitation.
Jones hasn't looked convincing against top opposition in nearly five years. Coming all the way back to beat one of the best two fighters in the world would be nothing short of historical.

Jones vs Calzaghe and Pavlik vs Hopkins. Which would be more shocking? Either winning would suprise me, but which would be the bigger upset?
jones beating calzaghe would be a bigger upset. hopkins has a chance to make it an ugly close fight and steal it by points.
The bigger upset would be Jones over Calzaghe. Calzaghe is P4P#2, whereas Jones has not had an elite win for many years. Jones was great once, but now Calzaghe is the 'great' and on paper he should beat him easily.
With Hopkins and Pavlik you have a guy who was until very recently highly ranked for P4P against a guy who very recently wasn't. Hopkins fall from the ratings is perhaps unfair since his loss was to a fellow P4P boxer, and he performed pretty well. In fact Pavlik's ascent through the rankings has largely been at B-Hops expense, so all in all we have a much closer fight on paper.
Therefore I think Hopkins has the much bigger chance to pull the upset, and I really wouldn't make it that big of an upset at all. Not that long ago, he would have been heavy favourite.
Well Hop just lost at the age of 43 and it wouldn't be that big of a deal if he lost again due to the fact he's facing top contenders that are undefeated. His next opponent PAV is a fighter that's in his prime and has one hell of a punch. So no shock if he lost.
Now Jones beating Calzaghe would be a really big upset, because like most say old Jones is not expected to win. Plus he has done nothing great since hardly beating Tarver in there first fight which seems like forever ago! So yes Jones over Calzaghe would devastate people. I bet some even cry, we might even have mass suicides. Would be a sad day in boxing for some.....
I think Jones winning would be a bigger upset, Hopkins just gave one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world a tough fight and some even thought he won, Jones hasn't done much lately apart from beating Trinidad.
i agree with this. although both would be tremendous!
Hopkins can make any fight close with the style that he has these days and i see him grabbing Pavlik, staying on the outside ect and possibly lossing a close decision, just like in the Calzaghe fight. Jones seems like he does not have the stamina to hang with Calzaghe so he should think of ways to nullify it the way Hopkins did. Roy must be feeling bold in order to take the fight anyway so he must have a plan up his sleave.
