Now, I'm not talking about the financial aspect of American boxing. The biggest stars GENERALLY fight here, so the U.S. wouldn't suffer in that regard.
There will always be boxing on television, so that problem isn't in the way, either.
However, most casual fans prefer an American they can root for when they want to go out of their way to watch a fight, especially if said fight is for 40 or 50 bucks.
But, out of the fighters I listed (or someone I missed), who do you think have the best chances of becoming big time American fighters? (It's multiple choice)

Me..........just give me a couple years
Fuck me, it ain't looking good when your poll includes Berto (sorry, I used to rate him but he ain't that good) Sergio Mora and The Nipple, is it?

 Funny as fuck! And a class tune.
I'd go with Pavlik but off that list I will say Andre Ward, although I don't believe he will get the hype he will be undefeated the longest and prolly have a good career behind the scenes.
Honestly... Probably.. No one... To be the future there has to be atleast 2 people I feel..Or atleast a Good threat to the dominating prospect/champion... the Main star and a Very Close second who has that spark.
Someone has to captivate or take the attention of the MAINSTREAM world
Sugar Ray - Hagler ---- Ali - Fraizier --- Mayweather - Oscar --- It can't be Klitchsko- ?????
After those great fights ..their prior fights were more interesting.
Cotto Margarito.. GREAT FIGHt... just not big enough to the WORLD.... know what I mean?
Jay-Z Nas battle.. Stopped New York. Biggie - Tupac Battle... Stopped both coasts..
People gotta want to see the star for there to a Future...
No one wants to see Klitscko...
No one outside of fans of boxing knew who marquez and Vasquez were.. if they saw that fight they'd say it was GREAT though...I'm SURE, Positive of that.
I feel mayweather Was the future to be honest... But he was either tired/scared/worn out/broken down/lost the fire/ too rich/ not hungry to fight anymore which was a lil sad for the first day.
I just wish cotto could get the fight with oscar... would definitely make his name ring some bells.
But as for now... There is no dominant force for the future... maybe some AM fighter thats won Nationals a few times or amybe one out of the Olympics that can get Mainstream and boxing fame.
Or if you consider dominating your division the future.. then KLITSCKO/COTTO..maybe Berto/Gomboa... they are the future.
For the millionth time. Pavlik has his second PPV lined up, and is the TRUE, ACTUAL champion in his chosen division. He doesn't have countless trinkets, he's the true champion. He's had one relatively successful PPV and is on his way to a second. That's not the future, that is NOW.
If you think Juan Diaz, Chad Dawson or anyone else on that list has reached that level, don't vote. You're clearly delusional.
Get over it Pavlik fans. He isn't on the list because he's the NOW. He has a future, but he isn't Americas future. He's Americas right now.
He's a young guy, but so was Fernando Vargas, and he peaked pretty quickly, too. Face it, age doesn't determine if you're the future or not. It depends on where you are. Pavlik is RIGHT NOW. MOVE ON.
Juan Diaz shouldn't be on the list then either....He was the unified lightweight champion....He's made it.
He hasn't beaten any hall of famers, unless they invited Acelino Freitas and he's never been a hue draw, nor a PPV attraction. He still has a ways to go.
It's funny because I consider Williams and Dawson the best fighters on that list, yet I could easily see them each losing their next fight. Williams is talking about going up to fight Wright in what will be a close money fight while Dawson could easily lose to Tarver in October. I think without Mayweather, our talent pool is still ok, but our guys have yet to accomplish anything. Hopefully Williams will get his head screwed on straight and stay at 147-154 as long as he can because those are divisions he can rule.
How do you think he would do against Cotto? I think that is a big ask for Williams, though I think he's better than anyone else at 147.
Chad Dawson I'd think.
Chad has a bright future also. He is slowly becoming a complete fighter. I voted for Pavlik(other) for now, as they are both 26 and Pavlik has accomplished more already. It could change in the future though as both are still getting better.

Showing some classic sex pistols almost got you some green K. Then I read your retarded fucking post and changed my mind. And before you respond, I'm not American.
Pavlik has accomplished the most, but he is far from our most talented fighter. Pavlik is seriously lacking in the fundamentals department.
Seriously lacking fundamentals? Have you ever watched him fight? That's all he does. He's very technically sound. I would never say he's the most talented, but he's got his fundamentals down pat.
the problem i have with prospects or untested fighters u never know what their chin is like so its always a good idea to curb your enthusiasm untill they step up their comp
i know most people will say Trinidad wrecked Vargas & Reid or Vargas had to many wars but i dont agree with that theory as far as im concerned if both of them had better chins they would have fulfilled their potential
i dont buy the Vargas was stepped up to early he outboxed Trinidad for large spells of that fight and if not for his chin would have won
