....I missed the fight as I was wrapped up in the Toney/Rahman fight and actually forgot about it. I'm glad I didn't see it and I'm glad my kids weren't watching. Get well soon Oscar!
Perhaps someone is wiling to make a nice highlight video to post on youtube for Oscar Diaz. I can make some request for Oscar Diaz footage on WBVA. It's not much but I'm willing to donate all my points and I'm sure others would be more than willing to donate to the person who can make it happen.
I wish Oscar Diaz the best in his recovery. Keep fighting champ! :boxing:
Thanks for saying that. Some people obviously don't know when to shut the fuck up.
As to your earlier post, it was awful to watch. Diaz made some type of scream or unintelligle utterance to the referee and collapsed. It was something that I won't soon forget, unfortunately. I'd have rather not seen it.
I agree. That sound he made in response to the referee was very unsettling. I hope he is able to pull through. My prayers to Diaz, his family and friends.

I watched the replay and got sick to my stomach. That was so damn hard to watch... the scream and then he collapsed. I can't imagine how scared he must have been. :(
Oscar is a great guy. I was ringside for his fight against Ebo Elder; there was this lady sitting next to me who started chatting me up and she turned out to be Oscar's mother. Very nice lady and got me to meet Oscar after the fight. He was very friendly, especially considering he lost the fight. My heart goes out to his family and my prayers to a speedy recovery.
I'm agnostic (meaning unsure for the slow), but...
Please, cut that shit out. It's offensive to those who believe in God, as well as people like me, who try to keep an open mind to religion.
Even if you don't believe, people seem to find strength through it, so... don't go out of your way to trash it. It helps people live their lives effectively.

Any news on this!?!?
I saw the fight yesterday and when I heard the grunt when asked by the refferi if he was ok, I kind of new it... Even Teddy, who was calling the fight, was kind of anxious and a little saddenned by what happened!
Everyone close to the situation has their phone off because they're in a hospital so I haven't been able to get any updates.
Rodriguez is known to have a chin problem, don't suck off Rodriguez. Good win for Rodriguez but he still showed that his chin is fucked up, he was shook plenty of times by a guy who isn't even known as a ko artist. He was backing up against a guy not known for his power.
You are the worst boxing fan ever. I hope you get fucked up like that so no one will pray for you.

It's an extremely sad moment in boxing when a fighter suffers this type of injury.
I love this sport to death but hate seeing certain things happen in this sport:
A) Fighters being seriously hurt
B) Fighters fighting on way past their prime and only doing it because they need the money
C) Fighters taking unneccsary punishment because the referees dont seem to understand when to call off the fight.
I was having a phone conversation during this moment (got a call from the significant other) but had to nearly drop the phone and watch in horror as diaz collapsed.
He took a good amount of punches throughout the fight and it probably COULD have been stopped...
i was hoping it was something minor that could be fixed like dehydration...or exhaustion...now it seems neurological which is extremely saddening...
I hope and pray that he pulls through and has the ability to live another day.
I hope his surgery goes well and i hope to see him again in good health.
Its a terrible moment when boxers appear helpless as was the case tonight.
Everyone pray for the health and life of oscar diaz.
Tomorrow I wanna wake up.. Go on boxingscene and hear that his surgery was a sucess.
He can win this. He'll be fine!
I got worried tho, when I see him wooble on his own........ Damn..... He'll be fine!
You can do it!
God doesn't care... gods a bitch :grumpy: Why pray to something that doesn't give a shit if you live or die, gods a sob...
This ain't the THREAD to be spouting off that bullshit, God. Take that shit to BSL. Don't start pissing in this thread....

From ESPN:
"Fighting in front of his hometown fans at San Antonio's Municipal Auditorium, Diaz appeared to be trailing badly in the fight. His right eye was swollen almost completely shut in the main event of the ESPN2-televised "Wednesday Night Fights."
Rodriguez was shook once...In the 4th. Your guy lost, and lost well. Sorry you have to be a child about it. Keep thinking it was a close fight if it makes you happy.
