who exactly did he fight at welter or more important look at those he didnt fight.
There is no one on his welterweight cv that is an outstanding boxer tbh he ducked mosley, margarito and cotto to start with.
u honestly do think he is untouchable dont u jeez
Sosa, Castillo 1, Dela Hoya ,Judah all gave Floyd his fair share of trouble in one way or another
Cotto dismantled Sosa BTW
let me add Jesus Chavez to that list who gave PBF somthing to think about before he ran outta gas down the stretch
Williams Can Easily Be Outboxed...if Carlos Quintana Can Outbox Williams, imagine What Floyd Wouldve Done? It Woulda Looked Like Another Corralles Fight. Margarito Wouldve Looked Like Another Baldomir, And Cotto Would've Looked Like Another Hatton

Mosley had ducked Floyd for 4 years, and Cotto's management had denied a Floyd fight a year earlier, saying Miguel was not ready. It was not until after Floyd had made it clear he was going to retire soon that Cotto began to call him out.
And Floyd didnt even need to fight Marg because he was not a legitimate opponent. Floyd knew exactly what would happen if he fought him and won a lopsided decision, he would get no credit, because Marg would have been an overhyped bum with no boxing ability that Floyd never should have gotten in the ring with in the first place.
I know how this bullshit works..
Eh it's alright. It's an underrated resume, but still could have been better with Cotto on it.
Still he has wins over:
Zab Judah
Carlos Baldomir (The undisputed champion with wins over Judah, Gatti, Clottey*)
Ricky Hatton (good win, you telling me you'd rather see fucking Urkal or Collazo vs Floyd then Hatton or any other of the lower top 10 welters)
If he had fought Mosley (and Mosley didn't want it until Floyd beat Oscar) people would have said Shane was old.
Floyd definietly should have fought Cotto, that hurt him big time. But I don't think he ducked him because he didn't even want to fight Oscar again. That's no excuse because when your top #1 contender is proven, you HAVE to fight him. Margarito wasn't. Cotto is.
That being said, Cotto wasn't that until he fought Shane in November, so I'm glad Floyd fought Ricky. We both got to see 2 good fights (imo) and it added big wins to both their resumes.
Ricky Hatton was a big win imo. Ricky was undefeated, had a win at welterweight over a good contender, was p4p 8 at the time, and came in better at Welterweight this time.
Oh and another thing...Floyd would outbox the shit out of Paul Williams. Not Diego Corrales like, but he wins pretty big.
like I Said On The Other Post...floyd Beat Every Welter That Would Fight Him...floyd's Handlers Wanted The Cotto Fight Back In 05 Right After The Gatti Fight, but Bob Arum Said Cotto Wasnt Ready For That Fight...who Did You Want To See Floyd Fight? Shane Mosley? Marg? Cintron? Cotto? You Know What Would've Happened In All Of Those Fights...all Of Those Boxers Are Good Fighters, but Floyd Mayweather Was Born To Be A Boxer, and Is Lightyears Ahead (skill Wise) Than Any Of Those Welters Right Now In This Era.
The true King of Flomos has made himself known. Sorry Brandish.
PBF didnt really have alot of fights at 147 so you cant really call him a great Welterweight, He is a great fighter though and that counts more.
His reign at welterweight at this point rates an "incomplete". It may not be over yet, but right now it has to be considered disappointing.
why would he fight hatton at 140 when he previously fought at 140 and hatton wouldn't fight him there?
i know u remember the comments coming out of hatton's mouth when floyd was at 140. hatton always said he wasn't ready for mayweather or he was a fight or two away from being ready.
he opened his piehole after the castillo fight and mayweather told him to bring his ass up to 147, if he finally feels ready.
hatton, to his credit, manned the f*** up and took floyd on at 147. floyd busted his ass, end of that story.
i don't understand why it's so hard to give the man his props. he started at 130, hatton started at 140.
mayweather might not have had the greatest welter reign of all time, but his run at 147 was solid.
mayweather true weight class however was 130. judge him there.
as i said previous he is the best boxer i have ever seen in my lifetime but just not at welter because he ducked every decent boxer at that weight apart from Judah..
You cannot argue that fact because there are no big names on his resume at welter. FACT
what is all this threat talk? what is this? every boxer who enters the ring is a threat.
i don't understand all this he didn't fight a threat talk... that sounds dumb.
Why not fight Hatton at 140 and become the lineal champion in TWO weight classes..? why make HAtton come up? why do you say such things?? :slap:

Now do an evaluation of Cotto and Margs lol. Don't forget the Urkal fight for Cotto and the Clottey fight and how margs looked afterwards lol.
Lol, yeah you gotta remember how he looked but that right there will tell you who really won the fight. Pff, idiocy!!
How do you know De La Hoya was shot? Who shot him? LOL! Did Steve Forbes KO De La Hoya in brutal Roy Jones fashion? I don't think so.
Oscar is not and was not a shot fighter.
You're also not taking into consideration that Floyd Mayweather is a very small fighter. He walks around at 150. That means he could easily fight at 135/140.
In his first fight at 154 he goes after De La Hoya? Are you kidding me? If Cotto had did that, Felix Trinidad would have to worry about his legacy in Puerto Rico because Cotto would be KING.
Hatton and Mayweather are virtually the same size with Ricky probably being naturally bigger. Where do you think that FATTON name came from?
Mayweather waxed his ass in jaw dropping fashion at 147. Come on man, people have to learn to just give fighters their props and move on. Excuses are for losers.
They call hime Ricky Fatton becasue his diet in between fights is a terrible one and he baloons,
an unshot dlh would have taken forbes to the cleaners, fair play Cotto and Margarito are with top rank but what about Mosley? and tbh as Cotto is with top rank and Mosley is golden boy it has been shown that the two companies would consider a mixed stable fight..
Floyd ducked several boxers at welterweight and cherry picked his opponents at that weight also, great boxer but i have less respect for him than i would have if he had fought the best at welter instead of just claiming to be the best

Regardless he didn't fight a top threat at welter apart from Judah (who just lost to Baldo) so he isn't a great welterweight. Pretty much every ATG welter beats Floyd IMO
Williams was an unknow......
Margarito and Cotto work with Artum..Floyd refuses to do business with him.
simple.
Williams had a title while Floyd was active, that he took off a guy that floyd said he would fight and didn't. Cintron had a title during that period. There was clottey and Collazo out there. He could have pushed for Shane again. The fact is, he never took on a decent fighter at welter outside of Zab. Nothing changes that. Floyd didn't want challenges, he wanted money. Sorry, but you don't become the best fighting purely for money and you can't become the best without fighting tough challenges.
I am a Cotto fan that i will admit, this is my version.
Beats and average Welter at best in Sharmba Mitchell..
Beats Judah on points who was a good Welter so thats one good welter he has beaten so far
Carlos Manuel Baldomir one dimensional fighter and an average welter in my opinion..
Struggles to beat a shot de la hoya which the forbes fight proved he was...
Then fought Ricky Hatton who is never a welter weight but an overrated light welter
By my calculations thats one good welterweight that he has beaten which proves my point..
He was not that good at welter
How do you know De La Hoya was shot? Who shot him? LOL! Did Steve Forbes KO De La Hoya in brutal Roy Jones fashion? I don't think so.
