I know this thread is full of bull****, but, Sanders was a waste of talent. The guy came into a lot of his fights out of shape as hell, but was still quite a good, explosive puncher.
Its so dissapointing to see a fighter do well in the first few rounds, and yet be gassed with their arms dangling at their sides a few rounds later because of lack of proper conditioning.
Wladimir was unfortunate enough to fight Sanders when he was actually in pretty good shape, unlike Vitali.
Once equates to usually????
twice.
ross puritty and corrie sanders.
don't try to be a smart ass when you don't know.
especially when the poster is just taking the piss anyways.
Corrie asked for the rematch even after he lost to Vit.
Then Wlad obliged after Sanders was retired for two years.
In 2007.
All good. LOL.
Do you think Lewis would have agreed to an immediate rematch with McCall? It took Lewis three years to rematch him, by which time he'd had almost three years of Steward's tutelage, had learnt how to fight tall, and had regained his confidence. That's almost exactly analogous to the Wlad-Corrie situation, except that Corrie retired in the meantime.
he was a world champion.
when he ktfo wladimir klitschko.
He was an alphabet title holder, not the world champion. The world champion at that time was Lennox Lewis. By definition it is impossible for more than one person to be the world champion at a given time in a given weight division.
Thanks for the compliment but I'm Finnish, live in Finland and English is my second language along with Swedish.
Et varmaan ymmärrä tästä tekstistä mitään mutta jos ymmärrät tai käännät jollain translaattorilla tai muulla vastaavalla, olet järkevämpi kuin ajattelin.
I'm smarter than you thought. :)

i was surprised when he rematched lamon.
usually wlad has big bro handle the guys that khtfo.
His chin was weird, he took big shots from Klitschko but got knocked out by 1 punch against Nate Tubbs, his chin was solid but had cracks from time to time, weird.
Yeah going into the Wlad fight he was considered to have a poor chin but he then took bombs of Vitali. Sanders had a lot of natural talent but he didn’t train very hard and never really improved, his stamina was rubbish but at the begging of a fight he was very dangerous. The Rahman vs Sanders fight was excellent.
Not only that. He had a rock solid chin (or rather legs that never fold). Vitali Klitschko couldn't knock him down either.

Sanders had very fast hands for a guy his size, pretty fast feet and was a southpaw with height and size. Shame he preferred to play golf over training for fights.
tunney , what's up with your sig?
you know ali was a cruiserweight in his prime too right?
he was in the 210 lb. range in his prime.
he was a light heavyweight in the olympics.
back in those days 200 lb. heavyweights was common.
floyd patterson was under 200. joe frazier was about 205.
Two of Wladimir's biggest wins came against a former light welterweight.
Certainly Sanders had Wlad's number that night, as is the case with numerous fighters. However, you have to give Wlad credit though; he suffered two knockout losses in a span of 13 months (first Sanders, then Brewster) but he managed to get over them and persevere. Since then he's won 10 fights in row, won the IBF, IBO, WBO belts, and is poised to add the Ring title to his collection this weekend...
I have admiration for Wlad because he's accomplished a lot in his short life, not only in the ring but out of the ring. He's been a great ambassador to the sport because of his charity work and the way he conducts himself...
Corrie had a sick left hand for a heavy. Unfortunately, he was so good with it coming up through the ranks and with his unusual handspeed for a heavy, he never improved his head movement and defense before he got to the top.
If Wlad could've gotten out of that first round, then he would've TKO'd Corrie. Corrie gave anyone B+ and less hell at the beginning of a fight, and then the elite guys settled in and realized he didn't move his head much, they came back on him. Vitali, Rahman. The Wlad now, would've too.
You can see Wlad didn't even adjust, and he never was able to tie Corrie up, move side to side, anything. That was a younger Wlad who didn't understand how to deal with adversity because he was so dominant.
Corrie was an exciting power-punching HW contender. To me, that's a huge compliment. Something we used to take for granted with the Razor Ruddock's and Tommy Morrison's, but we appreciate a lot more now, I think.
Yeah sanders had the physical attributes to be a very good heavyweight, if he had trained harder he may well have beat Vitali and Rahman his stamina was always so poor he just got by on natural talent.
if he trained harder and had francois botha's manager/promoter...... he could have been big. maybe not championship level but consistent contender status and lots of solid paydays. i don't think he wanted to play the race card that's why.
You're the worst asshole on boxingscene, TheManchine. :nonono:
You pretend to be a European, and with almost every post, try to prove the inferiority of European boxers.
That's low and slimy, in my opinion. I mean, why not just be honest about who you really are, instead of hiding behind that phony "Finland" under your avatar? You're probably really in the US, and you're certainly not a European.
you're such a retard. your allegiance to all things eastern European seriously screws up your judgment. Corrie Sanders potentially one of the best fighters of the 90's? just cause he nearly killed Wlad, :lol1: even you can't seriously believe that.
