Thanks for the source, Arum is the one saying it so I won't totally believe it's true until HBO announces it.
Steve Kim from Maxboxing.com just confirmed it now.
ill def watch it. im goin to the fight so im pumped as it is. how many people does msg fit. thats where its at right? there will probably be a lot of calzaghes fans makin the trip as well. i think itll sell alot of tickets. the fight itself i mean.
i agree that hopkins-calzaghe would have been a better 24/7..people are pissed bout it now but when its about a week away people are gonna be excited to see it
if roy jones and joe calzaghe dont deserve a 24/7 then who does?
roy, one of the best of this era.. is about to leave us... roy cracked history and is looked at as one of the best pound for pound fighters ever... and hes on his way out...
and joe calzaghe, 45-0, about to have his last fight (or so we think)
i think thats 24/7 worthy... and more than floyd vs oscar
i can agree that there have been alot of fights that could have been great for 24/7... but i think this one could be great as well. Likely be the last fight for both guys, not to mention 24/7 is good for the sport, gets people pumped for the fights, draws alot of people in that wouldnt normally watch the fight.

Arum is promoting the July 26 welterweight championship megafight between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito in LasVegas. He said the best HBO could do for that promotion was a countdown show, which is not nearly as elaborate as the "24/7" pieces it recently began doing.
"They don't do `24/7' except for what they deem select matches," Arum said of HBO. "And they are doing a `24/7' for that (Calzaghe-Jones) fight. And that's crazy. It's embarrassing."

Source? I don't think this would get much more than a countdown.

what does that say for hopkins...
He didnt even get PPV with joe..... now this is gettin a 24/7
Or Joe's number. Typical man, gets his bum sex then fucks off.
GAY, it might not be as gay as your avy but its still pretty gay. I dont wanna see 4 episodes of Calzaghe being an arrogant prick and 4 episodes of Jones feeding chickens.
that wuz funny...i got jones over joke-cal-slappy
HBO pays for the production cost of what ever they do. Networks that put on shows can be considered co promoters as well because they do what they do for ratings.
for the HBO COUNTDOWNS, the promoters pay every expense. Im not sure if its teh same for 24/7's, but i think it could be
