Get him a fight to rebuild his confidence
Fight 1. J.C Candelo 27-10-4
Get him a win to feel good about himself against a wily veteran.
Fight 2. Rematch with Matt Vanda.
See if Chavez can avenge the somewhat controversial win with a bang
Fight 3. Hector Camacho Jr 46-3-1
Mexico VS Puerto Rico rivalry. Chavez gets a name on his resume.
Fight 4. Alfonso Gomez 18-4-2
This fight was supposed to happen. Let it happen now. Another name on his resume.
Fight 5. Yory Boy Campas 92-12
Biggest name on his resume if he wins. This fight propels him into a title shot.
So after saying all this. IMO Chavez is 5 fights from a major world title fight against a world title fighter...
Thoughts?
Mexicans supported him only because many felt he could live up to the legacy of his father but I dont believe he has the ability to do that. I dont think Mexicans will accept him either if he continues living off of the fame of his father. Even his supporters have had enough of his antics, it's time for him to take things seriously and step up or retire and focus on getting an education.
Call it a hunch, but I don't think Jr. really loves the boxing game. I think he's doing it just for his old man. This fight was very telling to me.
Let me just say that I called it. Jr. contemplating retirement is not surprising to me at all. You can tell he doesn't really want it when he's in there fighting. I feel sorry for the kid to tell you the truth.
jr will never do it but i'd like to see him matched up against vanes martirosyan
who has half the fights chavez has.
Vanes is a decorated amateur with many more total fights than Chavez Jr. Vanes is fighting the same level of bums Chavez is, but the difference is Chavez had no amateur career. Chavez is getting experience on the go while Vanes should have the experience from his amateur days, yet his opponents talent doesnt seem to be progressing. Chavez Jr will be > the Vanes. Both are being protected, but when you have the amateur pedigree that Vanes has, you would think he should be making some type of moves by now.
I would match him up with that nintendo wii boxing game. The one you use the controllers to throw punches. I would favor Chavez, but only slightly and in Mexico.
LOL! I could see him maybe beating those first three guys on that list, but not Gomez.

guess again, he's much further than 5 fights away. Try 10 maybe even 15, then work up from there. needs more, way more improvement.
He takes so many clean shots now. A bigger puncher than Vanda would have sparked him out tonight. 10 or 15 more fights well, he could be completely broken by then.
He needs to learn how to pace himself and learn some shoulder roles. He could then be a contender for the title. He has to do it right now though.
He throws some nice inside shots and is a fun fighter to watch. As of right now though, he needs to tighten things up drastically.
I think you love him too much. Like I said in another post, he's ranked 4th at 154, and I'm sure that he's not even the 4th best 154 in Mexico. He's living off his father's name.
