hmm, he is a bit of an acheivement for marketing but he was a bloody good boxer pre floyd, and he even did ok against mayweather for a few rounds here and there (i think we can all accept theres no shame in losing to mayweather). Zoo may have been slightly past his sell by date but everyone still picked him over hatton, they were all proved wrong. He beat a soft option in maussa, true, but then he took on a champ at a higher weight and won, beat a big name in castillo then went for the god of boxing and came up short. To be honest i dont think he could have done much more, its just a shame he stuck with wank warren so long, he could have been a world champion years and years ago then we might have seen cotto/hatton. hatton aint a fraud. hes the most popular boxer in british history. he is a god over here. his fights r always good and tszyu is by far his biggest win. tszyu may have being shot but he was odds on favourite even by hattons fans. i would say hatton was a bigger underdog in that fight than the mayweather one

Simple facts about Hatton. Hes the ring champ at 140 and has never been beaten at 140. Apart from Lazcano which was a fight he totally dominated for 12 rounds and hammered the guy from pillar to post he has been fighting harder fights and for belts than any of the peeps people keep shouting out, eg witter, torres etc. Collazo at ww in the usa is a far harder fight than what witter would be. Mayweather in vegas was a far harder fight than torres would be. Castillo was a legend, KTsyzu was a legend and hatton dispatched both of them. Hatton would have beaten cotto at 140 at that time if they had have fought. Hatton was not weight drained, was in his prime and was faster, stronger, better ko ratio and threw more accurate punches than cotto did in his time at 140. But people must remember that Tszu was THE MAN at 140 at that time and Cotto and Floyd stayed the fuck away from him, yet Hatton took him on and beat him in a great fight. Now nxt up for Hatton is Paulie, Hatton will anhilate him imo, it's not even gonne be funny. Then if he beats Pac-man at wembley nxt year and calls it a day, that is a GREAT carrer. End up unbeaten at 140, fought 2 p2p no 1's. Cleaned up his division. Won a belt at 147 in another country. Broke ALL box office records. Entertained,kept his feet on the ground. he did not barely beat kostya. he whooped his ass, broke him down, and broke his will enough to make the man to quit! hate all you what, but don't be blind! watch the fight and tell me what the unofficial scorecards were at the time of the stoppage.you hatton fans and the refs are the ones that are blind,why is it everytime hatton gets hurt by a body shot the refs call it a low blow or a slip(tackie,tszyu,castillo and urango)

He is no fraud. He is not P4P either though, I think ricky is a great guy and a pretty solid fighter. He is on the decline now though. He wasn't good enough to beat Mayweather, and never would have been but has had a pretty good career. He made Tszyu quit, fair enough Tszyu was inactive and out of his prime but Ricky was the underdog and fought well. he is a good guy and i like ricky alot but he has bluffed his way to a top fight against Mayweather when there were better opponents out there for flyod, credit to ricky though for taking the fight on and tbh he was doing anumber on floyd until cortez decided to join the fight

I wouldn't say he is a fraud. I don't consider him great but he is a good fighter in my opinion.

As much as i like Ricky Hatton and used to think he was a top p4p boxer i cant help but thinking since he decided to fight Lazcano what he has actualy done? I would say his best achievement was beating Maussa apart from that. 1, Tsyzu was past his prime 2. Catillo is a lightweight at best no LWW 3. Collazo beat him imo 4. He has avoided Ricardo Torres while he was at light welter not to mention cotto when he was there. 5. He did well against Mayweather and caused him problems but tbh Floyd is not that good at welter as he was at light weight, and super feather. Not that many people i know watch boxing but they all think ricky is a great boxer. I think he is far from it and i think Paulie will outbox him for 12 rounds, if Cotto cant ko paulie i dont think Ricky can even though it was a drained Cotto Hatton is a great guy. He's also tough, but I wouldn't call him a great fighter. Very good, yes. Great, no. My biggest problem is he never fought Junior Witter. I always thought the fight would get made, that the UK fans would demand it. Now with Witter Losing to Bradley, Im sure it'll never happen. Any appeal it had is gone. But, Witter deserved that fight for a few years. T'hat is my only real beef with Hatton.
