everyone voting Pavlik, can you leave some sort of reasoning please? what threat do you think Pavlik poses to Calzaghe that RJJ doesn't? For starters, he fight 3 minutes of every round, not just 30 second. If this was the Roy from 7 or 8 years ago it wouldn't even be a question of who was more dangerous. But being that it isn't, I don't think there is any question Pav is the more dangerous fight.

i dont know who is better equiped for calzaghe honestly, and neither can anyone else really. its speculation until they enter the ring, BUT... kelly is the more obvious challenge. he is younger, more dangerous, has more stamina and is more durable than Jones. On the other hand, he may be too slow to avoid calzaghe outworking, outlanding, and outmaneuvering him. Calzaghe can take a shot, and knows how to adapt as seen in Kessler/Hopkins fights. even in roy's diminished state, he could be the tougher matchup because of his handspeed and because of the respect calzaghe is showing him. roy already might be winnning the mental game just because of the reverence and respect which calzaghe is giving him. remember how tarver ko'ed him? he said in the corner "don't talk about respect!" and he showed him none!

there is no way kelly could beat joe,pavlik stands right in front of his opponents, he doesn't really use to much movement, that might be a good way to fight against miranda and taylor but not against calzaghe

And the only reason I care about Pavlik being American is because Joe would get more credit for beating him due to the fact he's a yank. If Kessler was American he would have gotten a hell of a lot more credit for that win. Joe doesnt get that much credit for beating Kessler because Kessler hasnt faced the opposition that Kelly has. Being American has nothing to do with it. Teh boxing community wants to see Joe fight the best. Which is not Roy Jones at this point in his career. Its the same for mayweather. Please. There is a reason Enzo said Joe would never fight Pavlik. Pavlik has boxing ability, chin and power, and is UNDEFATED. He has the tools to beat Joe, and a win over the middleweight champ is a high reward fight. Roy is a shadow of his former self, and Joe himself said that a fight with Jones would be pointless because he is so far gone from what he was. I don't think it's high reward, except in the sense that beating Oscar was high reward for Hopkins. I don't even count Oscar-Hopkins as a successful defense of the middleweight title, nor would I count a win over Pavlik as a defense of the Ring LHW title.
