Calzaghe Vs Jones Jr.? Are U Serious!?!?

Dawson won a unanimous decision. No one has re watched the fight and actually told me that they had Johnson winning. The only thing that Johnson noticably did was hurt Dawson in rounds 3 and 10. Other than that, Dawson was putting rounds in the bank simply by throwing more punches and landing more as well. He beat Johnson period. Without any bias, i scored the fight 115-113 in favor of the champion which was Dawson. Johnson is also not a trail horse. Tell me a low quality fighter that he has lost to after he stepped on the scene with Jones, Tarver, Woods ect. He had a lot of questionable decisions losses throughout his career and is known as a guy that goes to his opponents home town and for fighting the best. He is another guy that Calzaghe was accused of avoiding. Dawson has beaten better and higher quality fighters than both Lacy and kessler has. Unlike them, he is tested against the elites. Tarver was on the pound for pound list after his two wins over Jones and his win over Johnson, who also beat Jones. He is definitely a pound for pound quality fighter and is also a 4 time light heavyweight champion. You have to give a guy credit by fighting the best out there and not being matched carefully, like a few fighters that we know. Calzaghe has shown no evidence that he is past his prime. He can fight Pavlik and should meet him at a catch weight if he cannot make the 168 pound limit. If he wants to solidify his legacy, then he will fight dangerous highly ranked guys that posses an actual threat to his unbeaten streak. Pavlik is definitely that type of fighter and if he beat Pavlik, i will guarentee you that he would get more credit for beating Pavlik then he did beat Lacy and Kessler. He would be beating an American on his home turf in front on an American audience. I watched it twice and scored it 7-5 in favour of Johnson, perhaps a draw but I couldnt see how Dawson won the fight. Like I said im a great admirer of Glen Johnson and he is the best opponet on either 3 guys records. But that doesnt take away the fact he was 40 and beat Chad up. Polls on ESPN (Jones 60%, Joe 40%) and on this site indicate a LOT of people are picking Roy to win. That alone justifies this matchup. If everyone was picking Calzaghe that would be a different story. This is the right match for both fighters and it should do great business.

You just can't expect to beat two good but untested young champions that were untested on the elite level and expect to have a sealed legacy. Taylor is more a fight that Carl Froch needs rather than Calzaghe. I see what you're saying about Jones. But at the same time, I dont think Calzaghe will ever be held in high esteem by some people. If he were to have another fight, I'd like to see him against Pavlik. But even then, I can see people saying Pavlik was overrated etc etc. Joe himself seems content with what he's achieved and happy with what hes earned so he isnt gonna kill himself to keep fighting to gain recognition which he'll probably never get unless he builds a time machine and beats Toney, Jones and Hopkins in their so called "primes".
