Cotto vs Margarito......get real!!!!

Is there anyone that can give an objective point of view on this fight?

When i was first introduced to this sight I was somewhat intimidated to it's complexities. Ranking, and point system, but now I can't wait to get the opportunity to converse with people who know WTF their talking about. God bless the objective fans, and the fans that can put subjectivity aside, not to mention those who know WTF I just wrote. Knocking out the true amateurs out one punch at a time.

Margarito being the bigger man come on. taller yes, but after the weigh-in cotto carbs up on arroz con gandules and gains at least 10 pounds. And height means nothing if you don't have the jab to go with the reach advantage. And Cotto has the superior jab, challenge that and be labeled and idiot. Be real anyone can win, but only one is more likely!

well margarito its too big for cotto too tough too relentless styles make fights and margarito style is not well suited for cotto R U KIDDING...margarito is an easy target 2 get hit...got Cotto all ther way!!

I have seen a lot of comments of how margarito is gonna murder Cotto and less about Cotto beating Margarito. So many people are discrediting Cotto though not so many people are doing the same to Margarito. Yes, the media doesn't give Margarito his dues, but Cotto is by no means is overrated. Mosley was not washed up when he fought Cotto, on the contrary he is always in great condition and gains wisdom with every fight. Cotto is great, Margarito is great. Cotto has a perfect record (well deserved) although I would have like to have seen a rematch with Corley before it became obsolete. Margarito has a great record (also well deserved). Margarito is the underdog and Cotto has the advantage on paper. That is that. Either fighter has the chance to win. No unrealistic talk here!!!!! A possibly legendary fight is in the midst and all people can talk about is how their hometown hero is of a GOD-LIKE stature. Sorry, no gods here. Just two great fighter and your moneys safer on Cotto. No Bull! margirito great? HELL NO!!

Good post. Good Karma for you. IMO, Hard fight to win for both. Margarito and Cotto should not be under-rated, period. The fact remains that Margarito got more than a fan club here at boxingscene, Tony got groupies. Half of them talk nonesense most of the time. This ignorant ViVa posted that if Margarito doesn't win by KO, he doesn't want the points on his bets. Now dumb, ignorant and narrow-minded can he keep getting??? Back home, all my friends got Cotto winning, but NOONE claims is going to be a sure or "easy" thing to accomplish. Tony is a tough badass motherfucker who breaths, eats, drinks and shits boxing. He probably ain't good at another thing. I say Cotto by UD, but any of them can win by way of KO.

Yo EGL, one is a fighter and the other is just as great a fighter as a boxer. Imagine the odds the same, but nationalities different. You'd be ignorant not to go for the talent/experience of Cotto. Margarito's older, but amatuer fights included, one of them is not up to par. Which does give Margarito much credit in the pros, but July 26th comes down to who has the largest arsenal!!!!!!!!!

I HATE when a fighter's fans try to discredit a great opponent simply because he's in the way of their hero. For example, Manny Pacquiao and JMM are 2 of the top 3 P4P fighters right now, but if you talk to some of the loyalists on either side, you'd think the other guy was a complete chump. Can't we just enjoy the spectacle of two true warriors colliding and not try to degrade the guys we're cheering against?

It's been a while since PR has had such a well developed fighter. Quite possibly none like Cotto. Camacho great boxer, not so great fighter. Trinidad great fighter, not so great boxer. Cotto, ambidextrous, great power, great movement, great boxing. To me 1+1=2, how about you.
