anyone??? Sugar Ray Robinson, not to mention, Roy is the much bigger man!? I really can't see it happening! 160lbs-175lbs, state who could beat Roy and how!!!
:boxing:
Did he fight professionally? Oh and this is for the people that hasn't seen a pre Toney Nunn. He was truely a beast at middleweight and this guy that he just blew out was no slouch and didn't even come close to being knocked out by big punchers like Iran Barkely ect. Nunn wasn't even known as a puncher..lol but for his handspeed, beautiful movement and ring intelligence.
Michael Nunn was a top five p4p'er in his prime. I will say this about Toney, he is one hell of a fighter. He was clearly outmatched against Nunn and knew he needed to KHTFO. He lulled Michael to sleep in the latter part of the fight, round after round, setting him up for that hook. These were BRILLIANT fighters.
Lol you read the last sentence and took it outta context as if he was saying he know he'd lose. Typical of you really.
Styles make fights at the end of the day. Fighter A gave fighter B problems so theres no way fighter B could beat fighter C. You hear this shit all the time. Theres no way Eubank, past it or prime gets knocked out by Tarver or Glen Johnson so does that mean he beats Jones? No not at all.
Its down to opinion. I think Chris would've given him a great fight either way. Its a pity it never happened.
There's no way a past his prime Eubank BEATS a Tarver or Glen Johnson so what is your point? We know styles make fights, this is a boxing forum isn't it? Weird.
Your opinion is that Chris would've given him a great fight. And if you read what he wrote, that's what he's saying too. Nothing more.
Hold on, it's not normal for my sides to hurt from laughter like this.
I'ts just, It's just, It's just they aren't on his level.
Holyfield would've crushed Jones, not to disrespect him Evander maybe be a top 10 heavyweight or just outside it.
Hagler at 160, no one at 168 because the division hasn't been around too long, I'd give Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore and perhaps Bob Foster to do well against him at 175.
Hagler would have found a blank space in front of him, with a mother fucker sidestepping and uppercutting his plodding ass over and over.
I think you are undestimating Hagler. See Hagler/Hearns. Jones always had trouble with a decent southpaw and Hagler was very muti dimensional. He could not only counter Jones effectively and take advantage of his defensive flaws( which he had the tools and ability to do) but he could also bring the fight him and make a war out of it. I wonder of you have seen Hagler fight? No disrepect.

At cruiserweight???? Jones would be over powered. He would have been over powered by John Ruiz as well if Ruiz knew how to fight big and use his natural size to his advantage. Ruiz also lost to a fat ass Toney. I really think that some people take his win over Ruiz to far.
Holyfiled and Qawi are not on Jones level? They are not Ruiz, they are pressure fighters by nature and will bring the fight to Jones. The educated pressure that Jones never dealt with when he was in his prime. Plus they are big punchers for that weight division. They would simply be too big and strong.
Hagler would have found that Chin.

Dwight Qawi and Evander Holyfield both would have eaten Jones for lunch at cruiserweight.

The problem with your argument is that you say Robinson couldn't beat him because Roy was the much bigger man. Which means you're going only based on heads up competitions.
Under those circumstances, I can think of a few heavyweights who would have killed ANY Roy Jones. (Not to sell him short)
If you then prefer to switch to a p4p thing, Robinson beats Jones.
looking back at this thread. haha.
Some of the names people dropped are just golden.
Look in the mirror and tell yourself they can beat Roy.

Hagler if anybody. I think Roy would probably get a points victory though. He was just too fast.
Roy would have made Hagler look like a total mark.

Julian Jackson, and Possibly Terry Norris.
No disrespect, but niether Jackson or Norris see the 4th round against Roy. They were excellent fighters, but Roy is a whole different animal.
His first 4 fights were at Light heavy and he was the olympic light heavy champ that's why I counted him.
Either way Roy would have ran the crusier weights at just about any time in it's history.
Dwight Qawi and Evander Holyfield both would have eaten Jones for lunch at cruiserweight.
