The fight with Lazcano was seen as more of a farewell fight to the homebase fans rather then a ''Homecoming''. I wouldn't be surprised if Hatton's last fight/fights are back over in the US.
Maybe, but it is more likely that we will see more British fans from the UK supporting Hatton than fans from the states supporting him.
Hatton had a huge fanbase in the UK to begin with.
However, after getting knocked out in the US by FLoyd, his US fanbase severly decreased.
Hence why he went back to the UK...

55,000 fans at wembley vs lazcano.. yeah hattons fanbase has really decreased :lol1:

what's ur problem. floyd cant gather fan base. he can't put up a fight where people would watch him. he needs to have an opponent who has a big fan base because if it's just him it wont even be on ppv.
Hahahahaha thats hilarious, Floyd is the most talked about fighter in boxing and he is RETIRED.
Hatton turned floyd around? I believe floyd ran and turned his back. either way, Floyd did the same thing with no warning.
And using ur forearm to create space is fine...but pushing it against ur opponents throat is illegal.
I'm not saying Hatton would of won, he just didnt get a 100 percent fair chance. I still feel he would of lost, but he wouldnt of been knocked out. I think the loss didnt hurt Hatton's confidence as much as being knocked out did.
And though Cortez sucked, Hatton still should of had composure, and in the end thats what did him in.
Watch the replay.
And when did Floyd throw an intentional rabbit punch at Hatton?
must have missed that.
Floyd did use his forearms on the inside and i don't think any of these fighters fan base decreased
I don't know why Cotto's name was listed when he has never lost or did anything to offend anyone. Why would he have lost any fans?
No, not even close to the truth.
Floyd never turned Hatton around and intentionally tried to land a blow at the back of his head.
You are clueless.
And wrong.

Floyd used his forearms, not his elbows, to create room on the inside to land punches.
Even if that is true, is it legal to use your forearms in a boxing match?
how fucking old are you?

I guess we saw different fights. He took liberties with his elbow as well. Floyd was smart so I don't blame him. I would have liked Cortez to let the fight take its course and not over officiate it like he was the star. At least now after the Soto fiasco Cortez has been exposed for the buffoon he truly is.

No. Floyd did very little holding and hitting in that fight.

Exactly. It wasnt so much that he didnt allow Hatton to hold or w/e..it was that Cortez let Mayweather get away with a lot. A ton of obvious elbows, putting the glove to his face, holding etc. The worst was the point deduction. Floyd did the same exact thing in either the first or second round and got no warning.

hahaha according to who. polls still favored floyd heavily.
This board was filled with Hatton supporters, and many fans in the United States shared similar sentiments. Also, that had been the preconception for a long time, which was one of the reasons for the massive buildup of the fight.
One reason is because he allowed Mayweather to get away with the same tactics. Floyd was the better fighter, but he got the benefit of a hometown referee.

Still never understood why Cortez got flack for not allowing Ricky Hatton to illegally hold and hit on the inside.
and people called it not allowing him to "fight his fight":lol1:

Hatton's.
Before the fight he was the only dangerous opponent Floyd would have faced, he had the perfect style to beat Floyd, he had the edge in power and infighting etc etc...
After the fight...
Nothing.
