double standard
n.
A set of principles permitting greater opportunity or liberty to one than to another.
I think he is afraid of getting any cuts that could ruin his chances of winning the fight. Any cut would be devastating in this fight.
But why was Katsidis afraid according to your first post, but now that it's Diaz it's about being sensible and taking precautions? You should stick to the guns you drew with this thread. This is called "spin".
I think Juan Diaz will try to box. Whether he can or cannot will be shown that night. I am sure there will be some exchanges, but it wouldnt be smart to exchange all night with a guy who can end it in one punch. I dont think Katsidis can Ko Diaz in one punch but over time it is possible. So be on the look out for Diaz boxing more. I know for sure his training staff have been working on it, its just whether Diaz wants to box or slug it out
In Diaz defense. Along with Katsidis Power advantage i think he has to wear Everlast gloves by law since he signed a contract with everlast to wear all their gear for a x amount of years.
JUAN signed with everlast, not Katsidis...Katsidis can wear whatever he wants...and yet Juan's team have an issue with that......that means he's afraid according to your first post....
(on a serious note, i think the brand shells out more money for you if you get the other guy to wear the same brand, wich is why some like to do this....others really think it makes a defining difference...)
I'm not sure he can fight a style like that and win. He's never moved around the ring for any sustained amount of time. His thing is to jump in the other guys chest and bang.
I agree.
It'd probably be futile to ask for a bigger ring on Diaz' part because the fight will more than likely end up being fought in a phone booth but you never know, Diaz could try and pull a surprise and use his legs more.
does the same rule apply in the first post of the thread, that diaz's reluctance to get hit by reyes gloves make him afraid of katsidis?

I think Diaz is the better boxer so maybe he wants a bigger ring to move around more than he normally does.

I want to know which guy would want a bigger ring than the other. Neither guy uses his legs better.

That's the first thing that came to my mind, maybe also ring size.

Looks like my source is waaaay wrong. They got the shit taken care of now.
Sorry about the 1st few posts i made. I dont think il be relying on my source much longer.

I remember reading about a fight wear he looked awful early in his career (didn't see it, so I really shouldn't have included it), but then he came back with a real good performance afterward. Like I said, didn't see it, but I guess it's something to take into consideration.

The lawyer says that Kastidis will wear his preferred brand, the Mexican puncher’s glove Reyes. The lawyer says that the Kastidis camp believes that hometown hero Diaz will wear Everlast and that there is no objection.

I feel if you concede hometown, then you should be able to choose the gloves.
I agree.
I wonder what else Katsidis has conceded, the article said including going to Diaz' hometown.
If I was Diaz, I'd be worried about getting cut too after the Campbell fight.
No matter what gloves they wear, I still think Diaz wins. He always bounces back after bad fights, and even though Katsidis is tough, he has absolutely no defense. He'll get beat up just like he did against Casamayor.
How many "bad fights" has Diaz been in? The only bad fight i know is when he lost to Campbell.
