Again, I believe Abraham's hide and hit is a very bad style match up against a guy like Pavlik that can win rounds with workrate at a distance. Pavlik can also split the guard pretty good with his jab and uppercut; and outside of the uninspired Taylor rematch he has shown some impressive body work. I have Pavlik by decision with Abraham taking a beating. (Last time I predictated that, Pavlik surprised me by stopping Taylor) Kessler has the tools to beat Pavlik but I think his confidence has been raped to death by Calzaghe. I'm also finding myself questioning his punching power more and more. Would be interesting to see if Pavlik can outjab him, he certianly has the reach and workrate. Calzaghe can probably beat Pavlik but I don't know. Would be an interesting fight. Calzaghe does his best against attacking fighters like Kessler and Lacy that can give him openings to go to town.

Well, not really. Pavlik is middleweight champ whereas Kessler is the #1 guy a division up. But let's be honest, Pavlik wouldn't have a prayer against Kessler, let alone against the current Ring LHW champ. Rich double standards when so many people say Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik, when he's in-fact stuck to his 1st preference and is 2 weight classes above Pavlik.

Pavlik is definitely a world beater. I don't think a bout against Kessler would be that much of a mismatch. Calzaghe's power and workrate make him pretty much competitive against anyone.

Instead of Pavlik calling out fighters 2 weight division above him I think he should first fight Abraham or Mikkel Kessler. Kessler is a more skilled, heavier punching, more polished version of Pavlik. Pavlik doesn`t deserve a shot at the current p4p number 1 Calzaghe. He hasnt beaten anyone worth noting other than the typical hyped american fighters like Taylor. Miranda is just an out and out slugger and that fight could have gone either way. Pavliks fight against Taylor should probably have been called off in the second round when the referee let Pavlik carry on, as he was hanging on for dear life. Then Pavlik fights Gary Lockett and wins in 3 rounds against a guy who is not even known in his own city let alone on the world scene. He isn't satisfied with just the MW title. He will fight AA and clean out the division. Calling out Calzaghe is what boxing needs for two reasons. 1: Because it is the biggest possible fight that could be made right now. 2: Because it will finally give people a chance to see JC up against a true champion. Kessler has only JC on his resume in which he lost to. He should feel honored that Pavlik still wants him, if he indeed does at all.
