I always felt like his trainer was more hyped and in the fight than he was.
Hahaha, yea I'm watchin the fight right now and laughing my ass off at the way Allen's trainer keeps beating him up in the corner :D
It was the third fight between Hopkins and Allen, the first one ending in a no contest because the referee had pushed Hopkins out of the ring and injured him and the second one was a dominant TKO victory for Hopkins.
Hopkins could have knocked Allen out at any point in the fight had he pressed the issue, but he explained in the post-fight interview that he wanted to play it safe to preserve his fight with Oscar de la Hoya, who was to beat Felix Sturm in the main event of that PPV.
Allen's vindication was that he went the distance, though he never seemed interested in winning the fight.
Wow... I guess I just assumed that was the KO punch. The way he fell on his face made me think that he was done.
My bad!
Yeah same i thought that was a KO shot. But he got up around 9 i think. And it went the distance. Wasn't a very entertaining fight tbh.
Yeah but he didn't say KO. He said Hit him with. Hopkins put Allen down in round 7 of their third fight with a big over hand looping right hand.
I watched it the other day :D
The second fight i am watching now

Yup! Immediate rematch after the Mills lane injury was the TKO fight.
