Kessler was "ducking" Miranda?

So is Kessler now the Champion? And proven he is best? He defeated an unknown fighter in his hometown , well Brondby which is just outside Copenhagen actually. To say Miranda is more of a bum than Sartisan is a joke. Kessler wasn't even televised. The likelyhood is that Team palle wanted to ease Kessler back into contention with an easy opponent for his comeback fight. Kessler would be very susceptible to Mirandas dangerous over hand right as well. To just write Miranda off as a bum because he lost to an undefeated Warrior is a disgrace as well bearing in mind Miranda has provided a 1000x more entertainment than a lot of so called Greats in recent history. You mention you were drinking beer all night well that is not a surprise when you read back through your horseshit. Do people still think that this one dimensional fighter (Miranda) could cause Kessler any problems given that Kessler is probably a bigger puncher than King Arthur and signifcantly more skilled than Miranda. Miranda is world class but not good enough to be a world champion and will always hover on the fringes IMO. He is famous for beating an old and shot Howard Eastman in which that fight was stopped to early. Miranda fans should calm down because the boy still needs to prove him self!

I think we need to define what we mean when we say “ducked”. I guess most people here take as meaning that one fighter is afraid of the other. Does anybody here really think Kessler was afraid of Miranda? I don’t think Kessler is afraid of anyone. But, having said that, I DO think, at least on paper, that Kessler took the easy way to get back a title. Though Sartison is unknown in most parts of the world, he certainly wasn’t a bum - but then again, he certainly wasn’t Joe Calzaghe. But I can understand why Kessler did what he did. He has just gotten off a 6 months lay-off after suffering his only loss (and a hand injury) and an opportunity presented itself to fight for a world title. Business wise I think this will help him in the long run. Now he has a title and that will increase his marketability in the future. Would it have helped Kessler’s marketability in the US by knocking out Miranda? Actually, I don’t think so. Miranda got exposed and after watching him being destroyed by Abraham I was like: “That’s it? Was that really what all the fuss was about?”. I’m not taking anything away from Abraham, he fought a disciplined and solid fight - but Miranda simply isn’t that good. Miranda, while talking a good game - and calling out people left and right, got his suspect chin exposed once again. Abraham proved that anyone with a bit of power (and a little something between the ears) will always destroy the overrated and much hyped Miranda. Anyway, my 2 cents.

This is all true, but can anyone really blame a fighter for wanting to be a champion? After all, isn't that what the sport is about, proving yourself to be the best? I know Kessler hasn't proven himself the best, but now he has a belt he has a bargaining tool for bigger fights, considering he is still a very live and dangerous opponent. Beating Miranda, although profile raising, would only add to the difficulty he has in nailing down big fights, as he would become more avoided. That's a good point he would be avoided. Then we would be makeing threads about how so and so ducked kessler. Look at winky, he was avoided, he took a fight vs fraizer(I think was the name). And he got a shot againts mosely. After being avoided after his fight with vargas were he looked good in. Incase that last paragraph only made sence to me, ill say it like this. Winky vs vargas- winky losses but looks good in the fight, so people don't choose to fight him. Winky vs fraizer(not sure on name)- winky took care of buinsness and put him self in a fight with mosely, look at winky now. He is still avoided but his legacy is made because he took a not so big fight and did what he had to do. Mosely 2x, taylor, hopkins, and vargas, win lose or draw that's a good legacy, and it started because he took a fight againts a lesser guy and looked good.

He's a good guy to debate againts, most other people would be throwing insults by now. The WBA USED TO be the real belt. and it USED TO be one of the most respected years back. nowadays, it is garbage. for a number of reasons. -They never enforce their mandatories...aka Mundine fighting bum after bum for title defences, and them not caring at all. -Their rankings suck, even more than the rest of the alphabet belts. -They end up having 2 champions if a fighter holds the WBA belt and another alphabet belt. thats great, aint it? so just in case someone actually unifies, they spit out another 'regular' WBA title belt, so that we can have 4 again! thank goodness! so basically, having title defences with a WBA belt doesnt mean anything. its a joke nowadays, and by far the worst belt out there. a real disgrace, considering it was THE belt. If Kessler fought Miranda, he could have skipped that 'climbing the ladder' business, and jumped right back into the mix and get big fights off the bat. now hes just gonna get held up by worthless mandotories, and be pushed to the back of the line for any big fights. The reason it gets no respect is the fault of the sanctioning bodys. Also, the WBA is not just "some alphabet belt", it is the original title, the one that was held by all the greats, back in the days when there was only one champion. It should be the most respected, although for some reason, it rarely is. The reason it gets no respect is the fault of the sanctioning bodys. But Arthur just beat miranda on a big hyped fight, know he can make demands, because he has show something special, america has seen kessler twice, one he went 12 and beat andrade, the second he lost 12 to cal, he had a shot to maybe ko or get koed in what could of been a fun fight, he skipped out on it. Abraham beat Miranda, and he is now probebly getting a big money fight with Pavlik! When have I ever labelled all American fighters as bums? I rest my case. And Deanrw, i am aware that Miranda is columbian, but the majority of his fights are in America, and most people hyping him were American's. Most Europeans were well aware he would make an easy nights work of Miranda now his jaw wasn't broken. Just a thought as well, round 4 of both fights was pretty eventful! Kessler could of cashed in on thay, he could of gotten more exposure and more money. Like some of the guys stated, his belt doesn't mean anything, his fight was not televised, if he would of faught miranda I can almost guarentee hbo or showtime would of picked it up. If your a know fighter, that has real power, and has a name, and you called out pavlik and he chose to fight some body who: is unknown, yeah I would call it ducking. (Sorry for the bad spelling)
