i always knew miranda was trash even before the pavlik fight, well i didn't know i just didnt' like him or maybe the people who hyped him sooo much, he got wat he needed, a good ol beat down,i didn't like AA but now with a legit win over pantera he got my attention i still favor pavlik
Montiel is more skilled but he's also more chinny
Montiel is a chinny...but seriously, the guy eats so many flush straight shots, that his toughness really comes out.....oh and he's not "skilled", he's just on defense mode a lot of time and just looks to explode with a left hook......like abraham...
Abraham impressed the fuck outa me tonight. He came into the ring, cool as a fuckin clam; let Miranda think he was dominating the fight, and then boom, he KO's him in dramatic fashion!....:boxing:
Abraham has great defense and raw power.
i agree to some extent...but his defense works BECAUSE of his toughness and natural physical strenght.....thats why i think the attribute there is his toughness...
his power is also obvious......but seriously if someone goes in there to just outwork abraham and then run out of trouble, araham's overly passive approach will be EEEEEEEEEEEEEASY to capitalise.....abraham has bad defense for body shots too......
I like how he set Miranda up for those hooks.Hes Pavlik biggest threat.Winky should fight Abraham. He might get knocked out though.
Lets see if Arum has the balls.Hes been protecting Pavlik lately and if he keeps it up ,Pavlik is going to leave him hanging and get with another promoter.
What planet have you been on? Miranda and twice with JT - and that's protecting Kelly? Please. Kelly is going to clean out the division since JC had to bitch out. I like AA, he seems like a stand up guy, but facts are facts - he only has the punchers chance.
the same i thought before really...hes a fighter who only has toughness and power...kinda like fernando montiel....
Abraham has great defense and raw power.
You know Bat, I had never sen Abraham fight before this week, and had only seen Miranda against Pavlik, but I downloaded every fight of theirs that I could this week and watched them, and it wasn't that hard to make the call.
I had a few fears about it being in the states and at 166, but I still made my largest ever bets on this site and I am delighted, like you, to have been a winner.
Happy days, and I am definitely a fan of Abraham now, as someone else posted, he has a very unique style.
Cheers to you Abadger! Let's get drunk!
Check my sig, there is this guy that bet me that Abraham would go down. I'd take that bet with you and Pavlik any time. Abraham has never shown me that he was hurt and he's fought a lot. I'll bet against you that AA does not get stopped by Pavlik and I'll bet with smb else that he wins as risky as it is.
There is a greater chance that somebody stops Zaghe than somebody stopping Arthur.
Look, I have no argument that Abraham is tough, none at all. What I'm saying, basically, is that any fighter can be put on the canvas, if he's hit just right, and it doesn't always take hard punch to do it. A liver shot will put anybody down, if they're hit right. And I'm not saying Pavlik definitely would put Abraham down, either...like I said, if I were forced to make a call now, that'd be my call. Pavlik by late TKO bodyshot, or decision (higher work rate than Abraham, by far). On the other hand, I'm also saying that there's about a 40% chance that Abraham will catch Pavlik with a big shot and end it suddenly, early on. But as for taking a bet that a fighter will never go down, that'd be foolish for me, since he'd have to be retired before I could get paid, right? :)
I'm not a guy to brag. Honestly. BUT I SAID IT ALL THE TIME!!!! :lol1:
(Actually I was always on the fence with this fight, but Pantera2000 bullied me into picking AA.... :lol1: )

Me either (well, maybe I am), but I picked this one nearly to the round. I had Abraham by brutal KO, 5th~7th. I didn't bet, but then it's a little pointless (pardon the pun) anyway.
PAvlik will be the favourite no doubt. But Arthur's never been hurt. He had his jaw broken and so what, a broken rib? I am sure he can live with that too.
I doubt Pavlik can bang hard enough to break a rib, but any fighter can punch hard enough to bruise a liver, if they're accurate. Hard to fight through a bruised liver. It'll freeze you in your tracks. Abraham's tough, no doubt, so is Pavlik, and the biggest reason I'd pick Pavlik (only if forced to make a pick) is because of size. Yeah, I know, Miranda was bigger, too, but Pavlik is much bigger, is always in shape (that's part of Miranda's problem and in part why he lost tonight, isn't conditioned properly and is easier to hit in mid-rounds), and is a very good boxer. And I'm not saying Pavlik is a heavy favorite, just a slight go-ahead for either a decision (work rate), or a late TKO from a body shot. Either way, it'll be a great fight if it actually happens (and it should).
I see Bat with a lot of bets. I bet some of my meager share too.
We put are money where our mouth is.
I hate the fact that people judge a fighter how he looks at the weigh in.
It skills not how ripped you are. Otherwise Jeff Lacy would be an all time great.

What surprised me about tonights fight was that really, if you look at the recent records of Abraham and Miranda, there was really nothing to suggest that Abraham would do what he did, at least if we are to go on believing that Miranda is a genuine top level guy. I expected him to win, but I didn't expect that. I mean he basically KOd Miranda the second he decided he wanted to.
what do you think of arthur abraham now?
He is tough! The fact that he was able to survive despite a broken jaw in his last fight against Miranda, he should be one tough dude!
After seeing Arthur tonight I have some concerns for Pavlik. Arthur's guard is so tight and unlike Winky he can punch like a motherfucker. If he catches Pavlik with one of those shots Pavlik will have a hard time.
It's either a decision for Pavlik or a ko win for Arthur.
There will be more to a fight between these kids than sledgehammer head shots. Pavlik does fantastic body work, is very tenacious, and has a will of solid stainless steel. I think he'd be about a 3/2 favorite to win. If I had to pick right now, I'd say it'll be a body shot that wins the fight for Pavlik.
Batman,
Don;t act you were chicken-stricken yourself. At least you've bet so many more points than me. Arthur has vicous power. His one punch power at middleweight has no equal.
Those pics were fearsome yes. But just because a cake looks good it doesn't have to taste good!
