Cuban fighters are among the best in the world. I wish we could see more of them in the pros.

Cuban boxing is way overrated, their amateur system is much like our pro system. The reason Cuba does so good at these amateur events is because they have older more experienced fighters fighting young inexperienced fighters. It's the equivelant of the other countries sending profesional fighters to the olympics. Sure they do develop some good fighters but some of the best have come to the US and have not made much of an impact. Competing in amateur and professional competitions is as different as a nice girl's figure from that balloon of an butt in your picture. Professional fighters all compete in amateurs first, that is their fundamental learning experience. Without amateurs there is no professional league. Part of the reason why american boxers are loosing their "lead" in almost all weight categories, is because their amateur school is almost non-existent.

Our fighters don't need to prove anything, look at the Olympics and world championship results. We are destroying the Americans, Russians, and everybody else who comes our way. Because the only reason they are profesionals is because they had to defect, because in Cuba you can't leave the country freely, so they decide to have patriotism out of their country because in their country they can't become profesionals. I think your being harsh on Cuban Pride but the only thing he has said that's a mistake is that Cuban fight for Pride instead of for Money because I will bet anything that if Cubans could leave their country freely, most of them would be in the profesionals, and to answer to all of you that say that Cubans wouldn't dominate shit because they have had two good fighters (Casamayor and Gamboa), well the thing is that most of the really great ones are afraid to defect but when Cuba is a democracy and Cuban boxers can join the profesionals with no problem I am sure they will dominate.
