Why all the emphasis on retiring undefeated by guys like Calzaghe and Mayweather? Everyone loses at sum stage name 1 great fighter apart from Rocky Marciano that was undefeated at the end of ther career. Please dont say Terry Marsh.
Aside from Pavlik (who I still think he will fight, BTW) there has been nobody else Joe was able to fight.
The likes of Hopkins, Jones, Johnson etc didn't want to know when they were in their primes, so it's not Joe's fault.
He has only even been in 2 close fights, and that was Reid (when he was injured) and Hopkins (who comes to stop you winning ,rather than trying to win the fight himself)
gd post i totally agree with that at least calzaghe is fighting the best he can at the moment which is good.

i dont particularly rate mayweathers undefeated streak - yes he is a fantastic fighter but he has only faced one out of the top 10 welterweights in jab judah - he has ducked the likes of margarito, williams and of course cotto.
now if that depth of talent was in the SMW or LHW division the i can see joe taking them on.
i think theyre are 2 schools of thought when it comes to undefeated fighters
1) either they have ducked fighters who dont suit them and are therefore protected or
2) they are just that damn good!!!
i can only really tink of marciano as a fihter who was really worthy of alling undefeated as he had beaten everyone and anyone who was worth fighting
