Pavlik Nuthuggers are un fucking real.
The Calzaghe ones were bad with the "Joe C by stoppage, Bernard is Old" shit. That had me rolling around on the floor laughing.

lol "pavlik by K.O., Winky is slowing down".
He's never been fast, speed was never a facet of his.
And he hasn't been down since he fought Vasquez when he was young.
Pavlik doesn't have the punch to take him out. Sorry.

Pavlik by SD. Winky's defense is nearly impregnable, especially against conventional boxers, but I think Pavlik's work rate and conditioning would allow him to throw non-stop all night and give him a close SD after a fairly boring fight. I repeat...a fairly boring fight.
I want to see Pavlik/Kessler for Christmas.
i really have no idea what wright has left at the moment, but if he is at 95% ofthe level he was agAinst JT, id pick him by close but clear decision...which means of course kelly media darling pavlik will get a robbery decision and the people who like him(which is much more people than the ones that like winky) will justify the decision as close and couldve gone either way...
I think Winky is too old to hang with Pavlik, I don't think he would have the stamina any more to be able to compete effectively down the stretch.
I doubt Pavlik KOs him though, the thing about guys who its never happened to is that it doesn't tend to happen to them, unless they are EXTREMELY shot.
This could be a potential matchup in the future.
I think Pavlik would be the first man to stop Winky.
Its definitely possible. Had this fight happened 5 years ago, I'd probably bet on Wright.
Kelly stops him or at least puts him down. Winky couldnt take the punches and he is getting up there in age. He will slow down and be able to block less. Pavlik all day.
I see Pavlik out working Winky to a decision. Wright will have sucess with his great boxing ability and defense, but it won't be enough to overcome the power, consistantcy and accurate volume punching from Pavlik. Winky should be De La Hoya's last opponent and thats a fight that he actually has a good shot at winning. Pavlik would simply be too much at this stage.
I think your forgetting how easy Pavlik is to be hit.
But nonetheless...Im leaning 60/40 towards a Winky UD rather then a Pav KO.
But the longer Wink goes without fighting hes only hurting hischances.
yeah I think he has already taken too long. Don't get me wrong, he will be competitive. I just think father time will catch up to him. I think Wright knows this himself. He knows his best days are behind him so he is looking for one last big fight and payday. He is a smart guy and knows where he stands.
Winky would still wipe the floor with Oscar though 10 x over even at this advanced stage!LOL That is the fight I want him to take. I want to see him beat that diva down!!
That and Quintana's movement puzzled the shit out of paul. But yeah, Winky's legs aren't there anymore. Atleast it didn't look like it against Taylor, Quartey, and Hopkins (might have been due to the weight since Winky tired after like round 4).
Which is another question about this fight, Stamina for Winky? Is it there or was it because he was at 170. He wasn't throwing a shitload though. He proved against Quartey he could throw 1000 punches or whatever it was, but that was 2 years ago.
On Winky's legs:
The Taylor fight is something I am unsure about. If I thought Wright was doing pretty good in the middle or the ring (a lot better than HBO thought) then Wright obviously felt he was dominating, so... Maybe he didn't move because he felt he didn't need to.
There is no way in hell that he could have done better against Quartey, so the movement wasn't an issue there.
Hopkins was the one moving in the Wright fight, Wright was coming at him. He didn't have the opportunity to show his legs in that one (if he still has them).
I am just unsure about his legs, really. It worries me a lot though.
On Winky's stamina:
He did throw a ton of punches against Quartey, although he was really just doing whatever he wanted, and was probably more relaxed than he ever had been on such a big stage.
I wouldn't look too much into the stamina thing in the Hopkins fight, because it was at 170, but more importantly... who the fuck looks like they have a badass workrate against B-Hop? Hopkins is always too far away to hit, or tying you up. You have to throw punches at him when he is coming in for that split second.
I think his stamina is okay.
I'm going to be bold and predict a late Pavlik KO for two reasons.
1: Winky is just getting old and his legs are shot.
2: Pavlik is a precise hard puncher. Protect your chin and he'll pound on your forehead. It really makes no difference to him. He will take whatever he is offered.
It is not a good fight for Winky at all at this stage. Pavlik is too young and just too mean. Winky was a great fighter, but has showed obvious signs of slipping the past couple years. Pavlik is much larger and on a roll. Pavlik would wear him down and catch him.
And lose the fight???
Winkly may have a "technical throwback style"...but when you watch his tapes..he actually comes to fight...
I don't think he'd be throwing too much back honestly, Pavlik would win a decision because of it.
Okay, that is true, but fighters still are known to stop throwing even when the prospect of getting hurt is not there.
Quintana-Williams I?
Really, Paul's chin is probably the best in the sport (I'm totally serious on this one) and he stopped what he was doing when Quintana landed counters.
You don't get hit and just fire back immediately... no one does. Except Erik Morales, but that guy is just something else.

Quintana was using his legs to move and not let Williams get his feet set to throw his punches, Winky wouldn't do this, he'd be coming forward with his high guard.
But the trick is...Pavlik cant throw without worrying about getting hit though....because Winky will light his ass up if he just comes in swinging like Mayorga.
Goes back to the point of punching power, Winky hasn't faced anyone with Pavlik's power, he wouldn't want to get hit flush by Pavlik so he'd stay in his shell and not open up too much.
Lowe is doing a great job with Pavlik.....I agree that Pavlik should've gone to the body more, but it dosent matter, he clearly beat Taylor .
.
Yeah, but Taylor was DONE after that body shot. It would have made the night much easier, which is what a trainer is supposed to do for his fighter.
Well honestly...I think the problem is Jack Lowe. It took Pavlik 11 rounds to go to Taylor's body when even I noticed it in like round 4. Pavlik needs a new trainer or atleast bring someone in there that could help them even more. Miguel Diaz actually does a very good job, but he needs to speak up more.

Wrights jab will get respect but Winky doesn't have the punching power to make Pavlik be cautious, Pavlik would just keep throwing without having to worry too much about getting hurt.

Theres a reason why Floyd fought Baldomir instead of Spinks at 154...he knew.
But dont tell anyone I told you that...dnt need any more gasoline to give these guys on Floyd.
lol
Blah, fuck it, I don't even care, and neither should you. He is out of the sport, concentrate on Williams, and just be neutral on Floyd... it will make your board experience MUCH better, trust me.
