Probably Steward. I think when most people (especially the casual fan) see a fighter enter the ring with him, they are automatically looked at as having a "great" advantage over their opponent. Those who really understand boxing, know its up to the fighter whether he listens to his trainer or not. Not all fighters will do good under Steward.
After watching Lewis-Klitschko, it HAS to be Steward. He has a long history of fighters tiring and getting hurt, and never recovering. Hearns in the Hagler fight, Lewis, and Taylor. I thnk it's because he limits sparring Taylor once said..
Dont see how anyone could know this unless they have been trained by either. You should say cornerman instead of trainer. Like saying a guy is a bad cop if he is bad at giving instructions when he gives tickets, too general.
Very true! There is a good cornerman and there is a good trainer..sometimes one guy is both, sometimes he is neither, sometimes he is only one of the two.
Floyd Mayweather Sr has Guzman and had Chad Dawson. Roger taught Floyd to become more agressive too. He was by far too defensive with his dad training him.
ok let me ask u this. who else on their stable is a champion besides floyd jr. the only time floyd was so popular when he fought dela hoya come on. they are good trainers but they are overated. isn't the question who is over rated not who is not a great trainer?
ODLH was a world champion..
Buddy McGirt... There's a reason why there is the term "The Buddy McGirt Curse"
TBH I thought Mora had no chance against Forrest and then I saw McGirt in the corner.
the mayweathers
Both Roger and FLoyd Sr. are excellent trainers, easily two of the 5 best trainers in the world.
Are you even serious?
Do you know anything about boxing?
I think everyone on here realizes that Mcgirt isn't the best so he's not overrated, but I say Steward. Whenever his fighter gets hurt it's like they never know what to do. Hearns, Cintron, Lee, etc never knew how to tie up well. He's a great trainer, but a little overrated.
Lennox Lewis knew what to do, as does Wladimir.
You lay on the guy's back!
