calzaghe hits harder cause he ko'd byron mitchell, peter manfredo, and mario veit. all dudes with fucking iron chins and top fighters with huge one punch ko power.mario veit ko'd hagler in sparring. obviously he has a time machine and he still couldn't beat calzaghe. no one is as accurate or powerful as calzaghe. his punches find the mark time and time again. he inflicts such mind numbing and physically altering power it is a pleasure to watch the greatest champ in not just boxing history but human history. what a time to be alive. thank you joe!
Calzaghe won't just stand in the middle of the ring like Lockett and just eat shots, he'll take Pavlik to different levels and would put a lot of pressure on Pavlik as well, I think Joe wins by UD but it would be a great fight and i like both fighters a lot, Pavlik is a great Champion
IMO the only thing Calzaghe has over Pavlik is activity and maybe a few pounds of weight. If this fight gets made, my points go on Pavlik. Still, I'm not saying Joe can't decision this fight, but KO...hell no.
Who said he did?
I been seeing alot of people on here saying Joe could or would KO Kelly so i'm saying Pavlik hits way fucking harder than Joe and that he could possibly KO Joe.
I guess next time i'll spell it out for you guys a little more.
Joe would make 168 no problem. Especially if it was to fight a prime fighter like Pavlik. He's fought hard to make the weight for years, so 1 or 2 more fights won't faze him at all.
really? I dont doubt that Calzaghe could make the weight for a big fight, but Ive heard he really has had to work to make weight at Super middle.
Who said he did? I think that Rocketman fellow said so once. but I could be wrong.
Joe used to hit pretty damn hard earlier in his career. But yeah, Pavlik is a much bigger puncher, there is really no comparison.
I'm not sure byron mitchell would agree with that ......when he needs to jc can bang.

Calzaghe hasn't had punching power for quite a few years now, his hands are made of glass. That said he doesn't rely on power to beat his opponents, his two best weapons are his brain and his speed.
I don't see a Calzaghe/Pavlik fight as one sided at all. It would be two damn good fighters with contrasting (but exciting) styles. An even match up. Personally it's the only fight I'd like to see Calzaghe makes before he retires - and for Pavlik is a no lose situation as he could keep his MW titles safe and fight Joe at 168.
I see Joe having difficulties making 168 which would affect his speed and stamina. If that happens, I'd say Pavlik by decision. I don't see a knockout happening in this fight.
Nobody has ever said this, so why the felt the need to post a thread about it is beyond me.
I'm suggesting it's not out of question for Pavlik to KO Joe. :tapedshut

I think Pavlik's victory over Locket was largely due to his size advantage, and his uncanny ability to throw every single punch with that sort of "Ouch that fucking hurt!!!" power his opponents are quickly becoming familiar with.
Manny mentioned the "Slight" size advantage, but to me it looked nearly like a David/Goliath bout, only without the sling. Well, ok I'm exaggerating a little, but not much. Pavlik is HUGE compared to Locket, and in fact he's just a huge SM. His frame is maybe 20% or more larger than most SM's, and I think this is where his bone-jarring constant power comes from. It's also why I'd love to see him against Kessler (preffered), or Calzaghe (second pick). I think the kid puts on a great show no matter what, always moves forward, has a fantastic work ethic/work rate, enough heart to take on a German Panzer division with a baseball bat and some brass knucks, and is humble and genuine enough to be actually likeable. He's destined to be a great, and is already one of my very favorites.
But I'll tell you right now, he can NOT beat Calzaghe. Not right now. He might be able to if he had another year or so of experience, but by then Calzaghe will most likely be retired. KESSLER IS THE FIGHT THIS KID NEEDS RIGHT NOW. Win or lose, it'll only increase the respect he has from the fans and those in the business, and it should give him those HUGE paychecks he needs in his next few fights to secure his retirement. After that, he can do whatever he wants, fight whoever he wants, and concentrate on nothing other than cementing his place in boxing history.
In no fucking way does he hit like Pavlik. It's nonsense to even suggest that he does. Pavlik absolutely destroys opponents with his power.

I'm a Calzaghe fan. I agree with you. Pavlik hits harder.
