There where a lot of good fights in the past from what i have, Infact i have found that a lot of the undercard / non title heavyweight fights of the 80's where often better than the main events. The last heavyweight who i really enjoyed watching was Brewster he had some very good fights, one of the only exciting heavyweight of the past 4-5 years. Brewster was very indeed fun, I certainly miss him.

It has certainly been a bad year for heavyweights, overall things don't look too bleak though. The HW division is an easy target for ridicule. What I find more worrying are these "Paul Williams...future p4p great" echoes, disturbing.

All I could say is, Stick to watching pillow fisted featherweights, I wanna see guys who could actually toss around a junkie or two in real life. As one of the posters here said, I can't watch a fighter if he is smaller then the last woman I fucked. Everybody in this thread sound butthurt, like that one kid who did not make it to a varsity basketball team, so he is crying about how shit the team is. But in reality it's him who is shit. The best kind of boxing fan is one who acts like half of the divisions in boxing don't exist, because they are "too small". Keep it up champ!

the holmes/tyson eras were worst and wlad has turned into a complete fighter that would have been very difficult to beat in any era,,,afraid to get hit or not he's difficult to hit anymore why do so many people say that? Those eras werent THAT bad. I mean, look, here are the champs and contenders today: heavyweight champs and contenders of the 80s: I mean cmon...lets be honest. who do you think looks better? If George Foreman came back tomorrow he would have a good chance of KOing Sam Peter. They would both be fat and slow but Foreman has a better chin and hits harder than McCline. What's Peter going to do, jab and move, do an Ali shuffle? I think Wlad has improved since working with Manny, but unless he has a chin transplant he's always going to be one big punch away from disaster. i think this is the 1st time i've ever disagreed with you clegg. the foreman thing , amazingly enough , i could see. but wlad did not improve with manny. imho. all manny did was make him waste less energy to conserve his stamina (which made him boring) and convinced him to take less risk with his chin (which made him look scared). i could have taught wlad that. "wlad , don't punch so much , try not to get hit and grab him as soon as he gets close." i know he'd get koed if he gets popped right or rans out of gas but......that wlad was more formidable and more fun to watch.

yes the worst. i had non boxing fans over to watch klit/iggie and was totally embarrased. without spouting my prejidice about klit they asked if he was gay. and i lied and said he was bi. they couldnt believe he was title holder. Funny as hell. Green coming your way if I can.

Bonin ain't great, he was to Haye what Gomez was to Cotto, minus all the popularity. And for a cameo appearance at heavyweight, that wasn't a bad match to take. Plus the knockout was great.
