Floyd just officially retired. Does this mean the ring title is vacant? If so, does the cotto-margarito determine a ring champion? I realize it has to be 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3 to declare a new champion filling a vacant slot.
I bet if Margarito were fighting for Golden Boy he'd be in the top 3 in the next issue.
Honestly, what has Golden Boy done that's seemed even CLOSE to shady since obtaining the magazine?
You can't say De La Hoya on the cover, because they put him on atleast once a year. He's a huge star. He sells magazines.

Why because Oscar De La Hoya is rated #1 at Jr. Middleweight right? Oh wait, no he isn't.
The Ring's ratings aren't corrupted. Some might suck (Jr. Welter and somewhat feather), but they aren't corrupted.
Since #1 Cotto has already defeated the #2 ranked Mosley and the #3 ranked Quintana, he should replace Floyd as Ring Champion.
You have a point kind of, but I don't think it works like that.
No, it has to be either the number 1 guy at the weight against the number 2 or number 3 guy in certain cases. Margarito is at number 5. With a guy who RECENTLY beat him, in Williams, ahead, WHO LOST to the guy who is AT number one.
This will determine the top dog, but not the champion. Cotto/Margarito winner against Mosley would do that, though.

Except The Ring doesn't reward fighters their belt wihen it's vacant. You actually have to fight for it and they aren't the shitty organizations. Try again.
