My problem is that Floyd hasn't fought the competition that he should be fighting right now and when there is a credible young lion infront of him he chose to run away from the game. How can I respect that as an ATG fighter? He has skills but my respect for him has completely deminished by 10 fold. On the other hand I think he's trying to pull what Leonard did to Hagler and probably come back to fight later on but lets be honest if Floyd doesn't fight and does not keep his skills sharp then he might find that Cotto vs Mayweather is not going to be the same result as Hagler vs. Leonard.

You guys are so brainwashed, it's very amusing, much like Floyd's retirement!
Tell me one fighter who was p4p #1 for over 5 years that isnt top 100 of all time or even top 50 of all time. Its pretty obvious to me you dont believe what you are saying, you are merely saying he isnt top 100 of all time just to make people upset.
i know he's behind the great zertuche, pavlik's a fucking beast to KO such a monster...
ur such a little bitch it's amazing! stop crying, get urself together man ffs. there, now u can leave me more bs red k to make ur little sissy ass feel at least somewhat masculine.
assuming he never fights again, and stays retired?
Top 90, maybe.. this is a coward move and he proved nothing except that he was an exceptional talent.. But a Gutless talent...
Top 10 to Top 15.
His style and his greatness wont even be appreciated until like 8 years from now....when they go back and watch the tapes..they willl say "damn he was the best....a flawless fighter"
I think there is probably a great deal of truth in this. Mayweather is certainly less naturally gifted than a lot of ATGs and has not had the kind of fights that someone like Leonard did, but technically he is genuinely incredible, as close to flawless as it is posible to get. Perhaps better opponents might have exposed some flaws but I am fairly certain these would have been a lot more to do with physical ability (strength, punch resistance etc) than they would have had to do with Floyd's actual fighting game.
I think if we're honest it is easy to imagine Floyd being absolutely worshipped 20 years from now, he is unquestionably the best of this era and is going to be the fighter, along with Roy Jones, future analysts look back on when comparing their own greats to the greats we have now.
Top 50. There are other fighters who fought and beat better competition then Floyd ever did, his claim to fame is not losing. Alot of great fighters could have went unbeaten had they avoided the best guys and got paid enough to fight only once a year.

I know you hate FLoyd and w/e but to say he's not even top 100 ATG is just :nonono:
Floyd is below Oscar in my book.
Same here, I'd say Oscar is at least 20-30 ranks higher than Floyd in terms of all time greatness.
Unlike Floyd, he never ducked anybody.
~Lucky13~ is the biggest hater i've seen

I guarantee you, 8 years from now, NOBODY will know who Floyd Mayweather is.
He's the kind of fighter who won't be remembered for anything special.
