This game is simple. Pick a well liked boxer with a decent fan base and tell us what you think his biggest weaknesses are. Don't pick a bum obviously cos that's too easy. Undefeated fighters are even better, what do you think will be the Achilles heel that threatens his 0?
I'll start by picking Pavlik. He's well liked by all, including me for one simple reason: He's entertaining as hell, he's an action fighter, and he's got great heart. But I think the one thing that could be his downfall is his predictable style. He's undefeated right now because he's great at what he does, but that's not to say that his style doesn't have flaws. Not to take anything away from his power, determination or any of his other positives, but he's a conventional, textbook fighter. Push forward regardless, and make your will your biggest weapon (that and the straight right). I just think that any one dimensional or incomplete boxer is just one wrong matchup away from getting exposed. I think another big thing is his lack of speed. He's so slow on his feet, I think if he were to fight someone like Calzaghe who is constantly making you readjust, he'd never be able to set up square enough to throw a decent cross.
Ok, your turn.
To be fair, McCline's power is underrated because of his low KO ratio but he can bang in the first few rounds before his stamina comes into play.
of course the guy is 260 lbs. but wlad hit him with a lot , lot harder punches and it wasn't until the end that sam got rocked. he seemed to get rocked everytime jameel hit him. even oleg hurt him but that's a granted oleg has great power.
a lot of african heavyweights get shopworn pretty early. maybe it's the lack of amateur experience and they get hit a lot when they start out as pros. izonritei comes to mind.
sam is ruined. wlad damaged him in the 1st fight. plus the ref knows to not let sam hit behind the head.
you don't go from having a david tua type chin to all of a sudden getting rocked everytime against jameel. granted some were really flush and jameel is a big , big guy but jameel is not know for being heavy handed. jameel's ko of grant was a freak accident.

Wladimir by a wide wide UD, possibly even a late TKO.
This would make Ali-Holmes look competitive. OK, well not that bad but it'll be big.

wlad would beat peter easily. a lot easier than the 1st time imo. who do you got in that fight?
we just need a unified. even it's not a long reign at least we know who the champ is.

Ehh... Wlad is actually one of my favorites right now but the only fighters that can make him get into a good fight are people who aren't afraid to tango with him. Maybe Valuev but he's not that good to begin with; but that would be the spectacle of the year.
There is, however, an overwhelming chance of Training Camp TKO1 Vitali though so Wlad could get a unification with Peter

nah...... you know what's gonna happen? they have the dream of "we want to be the first bros. to hold titles together." , remember?
vitali will not comply with one of his mandatories get stripped so wlad could win it.
it'd be horrible.
aside from GOAT tye......do we have a savior in the horizon?

Ali - Fighting too long, being too good at taking punches. Missing 3 and half of his prime years(not exactly all his fault)
he was too tough for his own good. sad.
growing up when i was a little kid i would watch videos of ali , leonard , duran and louis with my dad. ali was what got me to love boxing. funny considering ali was a boxer and i favor sluggers.
Imagine if this scenario happened:
Thompson pulls off the upset over Wlad by a TKO in 6. He takes the IBF/WBO titles.
Vitali Klitschko makes it through training camp, fights and beats Samuel Peter. Vitali, not Wladimir, gets a unification going with Thompson for three belts (and basically the undisputed title). That would be hilarious.

i think i remember him. did he get banned? i don't see him on here anymore.
on vitali though he has his weaknesses but if he could only stay healthy he could have unified. obviously if him and wlad switched places and wlad was the one that retired. vitali holding wba/wbc and wlad holding wbo/ibf both being #1 and #2 with no ring champ would've been awful for heavyweight boxing imo.

He keeps the maniac Vitali fans in check. Don't get me wrong, I love Vitali's style, especially the Herbie Hide and Danny Williams ass kickings, but he gives them a reality check.

Pacquiao - weight-drain
Tua - caused John Ruiz to win a title nuff said
Tye Fields - Yeah like he has any weaknesses
Margarito - comes forward all the time; if he didn't have such a chin he'd be KO'd
Wlad - chin plays a factor which is why he fights cautiously
Vitali - Let's ask Thread Stealer
Byrd - shot, can't slip punches the way he used to at HW
Hopkins - punch output
Ruiz - problems w/ slicksters and the crowd
you should start a "Analyze a NSB Poster's weakness" thread , ko.
i'd click on it if i saw it........ :-)

boxers and their weaknesses?
hmmm......
Bowe = has a glass groin
Ruiz = denied entry into judo tournaments for excessive clinching
Tarver = most excited i was seeing him in the ring was in ROCKY XIV
Judah = fear of beating a good opponent
Trinidad = no one told him he needs to block a jab in boxing.
Toney = round is a shape but that doesn't mean you're in shape
Cotto = he's not nor will he ever be felix "tito" trinidad
Pacquiao = does not respect his elders
Marquez = his urge to be penetrated
Barrera = richloc is a fan of his
Mosley = vernon "the pretender" forest
Tyson = robin "the pretender" givens
Jones Jr. = contract negotiation skills
Floyd Jr. = please see family tree
De La Hoya = need to feel pretty in fishnets
Hopkins = boring , ugly , foul-filled , dirty style and lack of dental plan
Vitali = durability , in staying healthy not in a fight
Calzaghe = his welsh nuthuggers , i'd say british but hatton's fans are normal
Wladimir = guys with pop and can take punishment
Tua = addiction to deep fried bananas
Fields = none
Holyfield = if god wanted you to keep fighting , you'd think he'd at least let you win some
