Totally different styles but both Middleweight champions, Kelly's style wont allow him to fight for long but a good thing for him is was a champion at 25 compared to Hopkins who was 30 ish at the time.
Do you see Pavlik as a long reigning successful champion?

Not imo pavlik is just holding the belt until someone more rounded comes along!!! B Hop is Hof for sure!!!
Yeah check the Lenoard vs Ali thread.
if thats true than somebodys credibility goes right out the window..
lucky13 isnt a fan or knowledgable. hes is a cheerleader.. thats all.. good k for pointing that out bro
Yet another uneducated response...
When will it stop? :nonono:
If you can tell me why Pavlik is better then Bernard without saying "Because Bernard beat welters" (which is retarded to say. Oscar might have been out of his weight class, but Trinidad wasn't) then I'll give you green k.
I'm not saying he WILL, but from what I have seen of him, he has a very harsh style, I don't see anyone at all who wouldn't have trouble with him. How often do you see tall fighters with strong jabs that like to brawl and get dirty? You can try to pressure him, but it will be very risky as well for you. You can play the counter game, which I think is the style that could beat him, but what I've noticed a lot of times is I've seen him throw flurries at Taylor, is missing most shots, Taylor would land a quick shot, but Pavlik wouldn't stop throwing. Believe me he has all the tools to be a great. By the way you're right he will most likely move up in weight quickly, I shouldn't have said that.
I like Kelly a lot, that heavy handed relentless style is a nightmare for most fighters because they just can't take it. He reminds of a crisper Margarito in that respect. I do think though that he is going to run into trouble when/ if he comes up against a fast boxer of genuine quality (rather than just the flattering to deceive type of flashiness you often see from supposed 'boxers') simply because his style is pretty easy for someone like that to predict and avoid. I could see someone just moving around him all night, again, like Williams did to Maragarito.
Luckily though, I'm not sure who that would be at MW so until it happens we'll have to wait and see.
At SMW though, I have to say, my boy Joe kills him, probably Kessler too. :boxing:
If Popkins beats Abraham, Kessler and Lacy then he might be able to fill Pavlik's shoes, until then, Popkins is doing nothing but pissing in the wind.
Ok mr. Hatton beats leonard.
I think its far too early to say that, and how long is he really going to be there for?I'm not saying he WILL, but from what I have seen of him, he has a very harsh style, I don't see anyone at all who wouldn't have trouble with him. It's very possible that he will go as one of the greatest MW's ever IMO. Pavlik is one of those fighters where you can see a lot of flaws in him, and say, "oh so and so has the right style to beat him", but like some famous boxer said, everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

LOL at Pavlik being better then Hopkins now. Hopkins competition was good, just like Calzaghe's. Themachine needs to Anyway, like everyone said, I don't see the longevity there for Pavlik and he'll get beat anyway.
Also come back to me when Pavlik is 42 and still fighting and winning title bouts.
Pavlik's 2 victories over Taylor are better than any of Hopkins' victories....Pavlik will be the champ for a long time and when his career is all said and done he will be greater than the dirty, boring, hugger, headbutter Hopkins.

Kelly's style does not = longevity. He's here for a good time, not a long time.
Considering he almost got knocked out by sad intentions... i highly doubt that, but the future is there for him to take, he is not a slickster but he doesnt fight too wild either.
This fact actually seems to have been deleted from history. I suggest you do not refer to it again in case you open a cognitive dissonance vortex into which the entire world is pulled, screaming.
exactly..........the man is 6'2.............his weight situation is different from hops.........he is a natural 168 lb fighter maybe even now.......................
IMO Pavlik has the body of a lightheavyweight. I expect him to be forced to compete there within two years.
