He got worn down and was getting beat up. He did better than I expected in the second fight though.
I think he did better than he expected, so he quit.
yeah, great boxing knowledge......but they fought twice einstein......and anyone who agrees with the scoring of the split decision loss never saw the fight......randall clearly won.........chavez won the rematch......he quit to win..........that was the word then..........and if you don't believe me.......google chavez-randall II and read about it..........because i was a witness to it.............
Yeah, I watched that fight as it occured also, He got lucky with the cut. Randall was always a bad match-up for him, but at that point, Chavez was no longer the wrecking machine he was when he was in his prime. And this thread is about Chavez vs Mayweather II, so take that Randall shit somewhere else. :offtopic:
I saw both fights as well. I had just turned 19 before the first fight. So if you think I'm one of these younger guys who saw these fights on tape or youtube, you're kidding yourself. I saw those fights live.
lol quit to win. I've heard it all now. Another add to iggy.
it was a fairly bad cut. but we dont really know how that fight would have gone on had it continued...
people seem to forget that their first fight was controversial too. If Chavez hadnt gotten penalized so much for the 'low blows', He would have won the fight on the judges scorecards.
anyways, Roger started getting beaten up as he was going into the later rounds, especially to the body. the first 6 rounds were pretty competitive though. thats how a lot of Chavez's fights went sometimes...he was a very patient fighter. Best version of Roger Mayweather there ever was, at 140. Pretty underrated fighter, actually. Hell of a right hand.

yeah, but sometimes you just feel like you did your best..........like chavez.......he quit against randall after being rocked....he figured he might not finish the fight this time, so he found a way out.........a small cut......at least mike katsidis would say so himself..........lol............later when chavez quit against dlh, we understood.........but the randall fight..?????........chavez in english means quitter..........lol..........
That would be funny, but Chavez lost a SD. He didn't quit.
