Wladimir Klitschko Vs Tony Thompson

Thompson has the edge in this fight...because Im his fan. and Im delusional. hahaha actually, this is a scenario I came up with one day. One of the biggest problem I see with your daydream is Klitchko's jab. It pretty much negates the effectiveness of any serious bodywork because it's so powerful, straight, hard to get under, and thrown so often. Ibragimov was able to do a little body work early because he's very, very short. Thompson is too tall to work that way, and will eat those jabs trying to get inside to land those body shots. Also, I honestly don't think Klitchko can be hurt by body shots. It's either chin, or naught. Wlad can be worn down, or at least has in the past, but the current version of Wlad (or what some refer to as Wlad 2.0) doesn't get excited and throw needlessly, reserving the power punches for when they'll do the most good. This, in turn, keeps him from being open to counter punches as easily, and frustrates the hell out of his opponents, usually causing them to take big risks to land a punch only to get countered coming in or going out. Then there's the added problem (for Thompson) of Klitchko's power. Whatever else anyone can say about Klitchko, nobody can deny he probably has the most powerful right hand in the sport right now, and when (not if, because he will get caught with one eventually) Thompson catches a flush right hand from Klitchko, it may very well end the fight with a single punch. I really don't think any fighter today can take that shot and not be badly hurt, and Klitchko has a knack for finding a way to land it. On top of that, he hooks off the jab beautifully and breaks down a high guard with it very well for the specific purpose of landing a right hand. Overall, I don't see a way for Thompson to win, but I've been wrong before. Good luck ;)

Look, Friend, I've no problem with anyone being a fan of any particular fighter, but could you tell me why you feel Thompson has the edge in this fight? Im just supporting my fighter. but if I use a sprinkle of imagination... Wlad starts off very slow, and tends to just use his jab. Ibragimov was able to win the first round against Wlad because of that by using body shots, and Thompson is one of the most consistant body punchers at heavyweight. this should be able to win him a couple of early rounds and hurt Wlad's stamina, which is questionable. In the middle rounds, Wlad will start throwing the right hand and left hook. But Thompson keeps a high guard, which will help him out here because Wlad never throws body shots. A high guard and an opponent that is right in front of you makes the other guy eager to try to be offensive, which will lure Wlad into throwing more often than he usually does, hes going to win these rounds but most of the punches arent really going to hurt Thompson. Later on Wlad will be tired, and Thompson's consistant punch output and early body work will pay off and win him those rounds. also, Wlad is vulnerable to left hands while pulling back after clinching, and Thompson is good at throwing left hands at odd angles. Thompson also throws combinations and likes to work in close, which will help when Wlad tries to clinch. plus Wlad almost never counters, he can only lead with punches to get anything done. when someone comes foward, he usually pulls back and posts his left hand. If Tony continues to always come foward and not give Wlad any real target with his high guard, Wlad might be thrown off stride. end dream sequence.

Klitschko to win by TKO in the 9th.. I say before the 4th. I think he's going to go into this fight to prove he can be as exciting in the ring as he used to be, and do everything he can to get the guy outta there as soon as possible.
