This is something i posted in another thread and its possibly my most logical point in regards to the result of the fight...including a video made by MaTTuP to show what im talking about:
I'm glad to hear the surgery was a success.
I think if this works out well and paulie can use both hands to their full potential the whole 12 rounds i say he beats hatton.
Not many pay attention to the fights in which paulie was able to use both hands completely...i mean his knockouts (which isnt many) came from good right hands (most of them)...i mean with two hands he boxes (in my opinion) as the best upper B level/lower A level fighter currently.
He's not elite but can get the job done.
This is a video made by MaTTuP... it shows what im talking about when he can fight with both hands...and uses his speed:
So if this surgery helps enough to allow him to use both hands hatton will have a hell of a time trying to get to him...paulie isnt incredibly strong with his punches but i think he has enough power to at least keep guys off...cotto doesnt have the strongest chin in the world but a good combination of a crisp punch and speed got cotto off balance...knocked ndou down...and when he was able to use both hands early in his career he did put some guys down pretty impressively (see the first two knockdowns of the video)...
too bad he hurt his hands so many times he has no power now...
i think the hatton v. paulie fight will be a close one; more than likely a split decision in either man's favor...
the only way anyone should get surprised is if hatton goes down or if paulie goes down on something other than a body shot (he's shown he has a pretty good chin and a big heart).
If paulie cant use both hands he wont win though...he HAS TO be able to use both hands so i really hope his hands are good by the time of the fight otherwise it wont be nearly as close.
my prediction is paulie by a close split decision as i believe he'll be able to use both hands especially considering how good his hand surgeon is...considering he's worked on the likes of micky ward, etc.

Hatton by decision. i think he will have his best performance in a while because he really wants that payday fighting Pacquiao next year and only way it will happen is if he beats Paulie
yep.
im bet on him hoping his hand surgeon gets him ready to go (paulie is FAR better with both of his hands) and that the paulie that fought Ndou the first time shows up.
if this happens i have no doubt paulie can win a decision...
especially given how bad hatton looked against lazcano...
lazcano was supposed to be handpicked to make hatton look good but what happened was lazcano had hatton hurt late in the fight...
seems like the beginning of the end for hatton.
if both fighters bring their A-GAME then its going to be an extremely close fight.
I'll have my 10k for Hatton winning over Paullie. Deal?
Are you still betting for Paullie?

what about the lazcano fight?
paulie is certainly more talented/skilled than lazcano and he gave hatton a run for his money at certain points of the fight...even hurt him...
paulie wont hurt hatton...but i think he has enough speed to slow hatton down like hatton wore down against lazcano...
Are you still betting for Paullie?
Hatton UD or late KO. Hatton will be too much for Paulie especially if comes in one handed. I'll also say that if Ricky comes in looking like HE did in his last fight, he could be in for one hell of a shock. I'll stand by my first sentence all things considered.
^ exactly, Hatton's much physically stronger.
picking up a paper title from Lovemore N'Dou, 2 title defenses .. getting stripped
Paulie's had a nice little run, but I think Hatton will end it.
**kinda split on this bout to be honest as im not a huge fan of either man.

hatton will beat malignaggi with rough house tactics.
some people are pointing out how paulie looked bad in his last 2 fights but hatton didn't win not 1 round against floyd and then looked bad against an old light weight
Malignaggi should watch Mayweather in round 9 over and over again to prepare for the fight. Mayweather snapped Hatton's head back with around 10 stinging jabs which landed with 95% accuracy. That's what set up the KO in round 10. Hatton doesn't move his head anymore, so if Malignaggi moves and really sticks his jab, he can trouble Hatton big time.
I could see Hatton being the busier fighter but Paulie would probably pot shot him and land flurries throughout the fight (given no hand injury). Hatton will have the same problems against Paulie that he had against Floyd except Paulie doesn't have the same power as Floyd.
UD for Paulie I think, Hatton hasn't looked that impressive as of late and Paulie has a blueprint of how to destroy him thanks to Pretty Boy Floyd...
Hatton gets cut badly, but is all over Malignaggi from the opening bell, wins a hard-fought unanimous decision with Paulie just unable to cope with the sheer strength and physicality Ricky brings to the ring
well to the poster who said im rooting for paulie:
well i will back him because thats what people tend to do; back people of their nationality (we've all done it and seen it)...
however that doesnt mean im biased and can't make a fair prediction or that i would be blind and score it for paulie if he gets knocked down 3 times and gets beaten for all 12 rounds or anything like that.
I can easily predict hatton to win; but of course i'd have my fingers crossed and root for malignaggi...
Just like mexican's back Margarito and the Puerto Rican's back cotto (majority at least) for their upcoming fight doesnt make them uncapable of being fair.
Now my arguement is this:
When paulie uses both hands his a terrific fighter...and if he can use both of those hands hatton has too much to handle. if paulie's hand isnt healed properly or he hurts it during the fight hatton will bury him...no doubt about it...with one hand paulie would probably get knocked out on a body punch.
However i'm saying he's going to be able to use both hands and he's going to pick up right where mayweather left off...
when hatton gets too close; tie him up. beyond that paulie will stick on the outside and slip punches for all 12 rounds countering hatton's wide punches...
once hatton punches him self out (like i expect him to and like he did against lazcano and mayweather) paulie will just pick him off further from there and win a split decision.
my predicition isnt something that is imaginary...its highly possible...im not like another poster on here who said paulie would knock him out...
i just gave a fair predicition.
Hatton seemed to run into many shots from Lazcano who is much, much slower than Pauli. If he couldn't get out of the way of Lazcanos slow shots, what about Pauli's speed? Pauli doesn't have the power to keep Hatton at a distance though. It could go either way, but I see Hatton pulling off the victory.
Am I the only one that thinks this fight will be exciting. These are two fighters who are LITERALLY polar opposites when it comes to styles. Should be interesting.
Paulie will win it by UD!
Hatton leaves himself open too much although Paulie dont have the power he certainly has the speed and skill and i think that alone will be too much for Hatton.
In his last two fights Paulie didn't even look that fast anymore. I'm not convinced he'll beat Hatton to the punch very often.
