there is no more of them, what's the deal?
are they running short of talent or are they simply being OVERMATCHED by foreign competition which appears to be in its peak!
the ONLY credible american fighter is kelly pavlik!
that's it! this phenomenon is just puzzling...
what do you think?!
Just so you guys saying "globalisation" is spelt wrong, thats actually the correct UK spelling.
Globalisation in action!
Apparently the latest excuse for not coming to the UK, or Roy for eg. wanting fee's 50/50 to challenge the top guy, aside from ignorance and overwhelming self belief, is the fuel surcharge on the flights. American Air lines are a real stinger for that, if only they could bring themselves to use British Airways. Would save $7 on fuel sur-charges. Might lose your bags, but clothes are better here anyway. :p
to be honest, this leads me to believe those old school american fighters were NOT that good if they never had the chance to fight any WORTHY foreign foes, i have a feeling american boxing wasn't that good to begin with!
And the cast is made...just reel 'em in.
Well damn, we only hold like 15 World Titles and dominate 4 weight classes...
we're only one country, you cant expect us to completely own all of boxing. its not even supposed to work like that. I would say that were still probebly the overall most successful country in boxing, that sounds good to me.
Its only our heavyweights that are lousy.
also, keep in mind that PR is part of the United States.
a lot of theese younger latino fighters are comming in and domminating for whatever reason. I mean, the US olympic team is pretty sick, so maybe in 3 or 4 years we'll be back on our shit, that kid Rau'Shee Warrenn looks like he got some skills.
I am also surprised why Americans don't run the HW division since 95% of them are over 250 pounds, that's like 280 million heavyweights and NOT 1 champion, a disgrace if you ask me...
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
American big men have gone soft....Eastern Europeans will be dominating the heavyweight division for a very long time.
It's really only heavyweights where fighters from the states have significantly decreased.
For instance, in the 1970s, a lot of the best fighters were Latin anyway.
Let's look back 35 years to 1973:

Let's go back 40 years to 1968:

There's been champs and top fighters coming from all over the world, for a long time.
why box for 2 million to 4 million for maybe 2 fights when they can play baseball football basketball and hockey and make 5 to 25+ million dollars in a year

You can try to discredit the "other sports" argument all you want, but the truth is it's "spot on" (isn't that what you guys say on the other side of the pond?). It's a sad fact that boxing in the U.S. is taking on a niche roll, with football and basketball attracting our biggest and best athletes. I'm certainly not happy about it, but it's the truth.
I am confident that a number of NFL players could have been world-class fighters if they'd gone down that path. But whereas the world heavyweight champion during the Louis, Ali, etc. eras was revered as an icon here in America, it's simply not the case anymore. They can find much more glory and money in other sports (without risking long-term health), and so they do....
I see a lot of young Americans on the rise..a lot more than from Europe..
Joe Greene
Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillan
The Direll Brothers
The Peterson Brothers
James Strickland
Andre Berto
Mickey Bey
and plenty more
Joe ducked old man Johnson for a reason..HE CAN'T KEEP HIM OFF HIM WITH THOSE SISSY SLAPS..
Pavlik is not *********..and the way he fights..won't be around very long anyway.Jesus loves you! It's everybody else that thinks you're an ass.

predicting the future is quite TOUGH but recognizing the current state of American boxing is quite easy, you apparently are UNABLE to do that but I'll let you in a little secret;
American fighters do NOTHING but piss in the wind!!!
Sorry-ass keyboard shit talker.
What happened to Andy Lee?...
What about John fuddy Duddy?
Bradley..An American..just took the title from a Euro fighter..
Floyd slammed a peice of Euro-trash off the ringpost..
Scary Joes squeaked-out a split decision over a 43 y/o Hopkins and CAN'T EVEN PUNCH LIKE A MAN.
No wonder he ducked Glen Johnson..and plenty others..even Echols LOL..
Joe was supposed to fight the WINNER of Brewer/Echols..but that sissy fought the LOSER:owned:
you like bananas..
the decline of United States Amateur programs could be another reason..if they paid less attention to bananas (see above) and more on breeding new talent...
floyd and hopkins are on the verge of retirement, pavlik is globalisation in the flesh..
and you mention johnson(whos actually jamaican anyway you fool)who was beaten by clinton woods a brit, yet calzaghe is in a different league to clinton so why would he be interested in old glengoffe!!
now i could put a smilie or an "owned" face here, but i dont talk with pictures nor write with crayons

they prefer pictures...
but your right, talk about shooting yourself in the foot thick cunts!
attempting to discredit my comment by pedantically saying i misspelled a word that was correct in the first place, fools.
only fools believe in the "p4p" system!
Then do it by divisional rankings where we have someone in the top 2 in 7 divisions, with a countless number more in the top 5 in 9 different divisions
