My answer Naseem Hamed. Everybody was on his jock untill he lost to Marco Antonio Barrera. Besides the Kosta fight Hatton had never really beaten anybody. Hatton got knocked out by Floyd Mayweather. I am not asking who do you like on a personal level. But who is a better fighter.
Hatton......by a mile, Hattons biggest wins were against Kosta and Castillo (the latter he dominated) amongst other impressive names he defeated. What was Hamed's biggest win?
Hattons one Loss was against Mayweather who was at his prime and will probably go down as one of the greatest, Hamed's was against Barrera, who some believed to already be washed up, this win actually put him back in the frame. The way Hamed also reacted to this defeat left more question marks as to whether Hamed was a great or whether he was great potential.
Most of you are basing your answer on the talent each had I am basing mine on the resume and Hattons is much, much more impressive. I think Hattons "comeback" opponent was of a better calibre then most of Hameds prime opponents. I think alot of people are writing off Hatton after his ONE defeat against the best boxer in the world, but the guy is the number one draw in boxing at the moment and is saving the sport.
Hamed has the talent & skill to be great Hatton has the talent to be very good
I agree with you 100% but Hamed never reached his full potential.
He copped out, no one can accuse Ricky of copping out whether you like him or not. He has always given his all.
What makes it worse is Nasims constant threats to make a comeback when he clearly won't. He was more flashy, he was more skillful, so in that sense you could say he is a more skillful fighter, but by definition of the word 'fighter' he loses out to Hatton because Hatton has faught for much longer.
The defintion of the word fighter isn't someone who gives up after they lose.
It's someone who continues until they can't fight any more. Like you said the thread asks who is the better fighter, not who showed flashes of being more skillful. Naz would win this vote hands down, he was certainly more creative, but I wouldn't call him a better all round fighter.
Hatton>Hamed

Without Naz would british boxing be AS Worldwide as it is now. And would fighters like Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton get the props they are getting now. After Naz came in Featherweights started making millions per fight. He didn't handle defeat well but my thread was Who is A Better Fighter Naseem Hamed or Ricky Hatton? Well liked is Hatton, A career after boxing probably Hatton, but better fighter HAMED.

Hamed was the better fighter, he had skills, speed and power... but as his career went on he neglected technique, discipline, and hard work.
Hatton doesn't have the same kind of talent that Hamed had, but has a much better personality.

Anyone who says nas have you seen him latley?? He should still be fighting if he is to be considered an all time british great.
He got beat, shit himself and ran away.
True or not that is how he will be remembered.

I vote for Hamed cuz he did everything wrong except lose, Mayweather was actually dieing to fight him
How good would that have been?
One of my dream fights, shame it never happened.
