THINGS I NOTICED,YOU MAY DISAGREE
-a slow decline IS setting in,but hey hes been a pro for 10 years and been in some wars..
-i think hatton took the fight a little to lightly and nearly paid in the 10th,i dont think he was on the verge just a bit stunned, hes been hit harder
-where was the new trainers affect,he did the exact same old,he really needs to change that!!!why can he not transpose the latteral movement, combinations, all out attack he does in sparing to the ring..
he needs to start leting go,this hit n hold is geting him nowhere why doesnt he just start going for it,hes nothing to lose anymore,id love to see him get seriously pissed(not literally)
-i think lazcano even though he was outpointed has a big fight or two in him
-i respect hatton for the immense pressure he was under in that fight,he didnt succumb to the old curse, but he needs to pick his game up a little
-stick to manny p or malinaggi etc, mayweather will beat him again
-for entertainment value hes a class above, the sport will be a poorer place when he hangs em up,i for one will miss him love him or hate him theres only one ricky hatton
if hatton lost every fight from now on im still a fan,hes done it all and in my eyes has nothing to prove, but yes his best days are behind him
ive read a lot most things people have said on this thread, some things i agree on some things i dont. firstly you will probably look at my name and think hatton nuthugger lol im a fan yes bt no nuthugger.
for those of you saying hatton is on the slide...did u actually watch the fight last night?? did you hear what the commentators were actually sayin?? to me hatton looked fine for the 12 rounds apart from that moment in round 10 where he looked a little rocked, bt wen he went to his corner he sed to his trainer i get hit everytime i gamble...trainer replies dont f*kin gamble then...wot im tryin to get across is hatton wanted to entertain his fans he wanted to go for the knock out hence put himself in danger. and he wasnt holding lazcano was doing most of the holdin watch the fight again!!
secondly wots the deal with people sayin hatton doesnt dserve a rematch? hatton and mayweather aint stupid its all about the money, who else will get 56,000 to watch a fight, would mayweather?? de la hoya?? cotto?? name me any champion today who would draw a crowd like that?? no one!!!!!!!! mayweather wants to come fight in england because of how strong th £ is at the moment compared to the $ jus think how much money mayweather would make fightin hatton in england. no way would he make money like that against n e 1 else in the world today...and sadly thats wot boxing has come to...money!
hatton got ko by mayweather but the ref had his part to play,i aint sayin hatton is going to win, honestly i think its a win for mayweather on points with ease, but id defo wana see the rematch just to see wot its going to be like with 90,000 fans at wembley stadium
as for witter....those of u thinking he deserves to fight hatton know nothing about boxing. he brings nothing to the table and as some of u rightly said,he has made his living off hattons name, witter is a rubbish boxer and im glad timothy bradley said "he was too focused on hatton and not me" :owned:
Hatton the boxer should forget about mayweather and concentrate on beating the best at 140 and any at 135 who move up. Unfortunately 140 is very weak right now so he's looking at malignaggi and then one of Bradley/torres/holt none of whom will add much to his legacy.
Hatton the businessman will go after mayweather and pacquiao just like mayweather the businessman hasn't fought one 147 contender since he beat baldomir almost 2 years ago. But I'm a boxing fan and I don't really want to see either of those fights, I want him to defend his 140 belt against the top contenders named above.
Are you not even a bit embarrassed advocating for Hatton to fight a guy who has been 2, 3 and 4 divisions lighter than him his entire career?
A guy who has never even fought at lightweight?i blush easily i readily admit that, please dont further my distress by openly admitting your a fatophobic
both 5ft7 one likes his food the other serves it...........
only playing
hatton did not come out with the fire you saw against kostya tszyu, because he didn't train with that fire. ask any longtime champion such as calzaghe if he trains hard for guys like manfredo..... FUCK NO!!!!!!
im sure ricky trained harder than most humans could imagine for tszyu and mayweather, fact is hes too small for 147, and that he probably didnt train hard enough to look unbeatable vs lazcano, just sort of trained hard so he could win 12-0 which isn't a bad thing. im sure he knows he cant eat those punches vs bigger fightershope so.....

I dont think hes gonna drop the Mayweather idea so easily though....hes thinking to much like a business man in these last few yrs and that Mayweather pay day will be too much for him to turn down...he probably knows himself that unless he can pull off the fight of his life he wont beat Mayweather...
I personally hope he does go for Paulie then Manny and leave it at that...but i dont think it will happen...
Mayweather to give him his second lost somewhere down the road...
If they fought in Manchester...Money!
I think he might do, just so he could retire on another big outdoor fight like the Lazcano one.
no matter who he fights he will sell out..
witter has no belt and couldnt sell out a phone box without hatton and has been making his name calling hatton out for years.
hatton wont give him the opportunity
nahh witters definately a no no
he has nothing to bring to the table at all........

What is Hatton's record now
44-1 ?
If he could retire 46-1. Hard to argue with that shit really. One of our best fighters.
how long b4 his knighthood do you reckon?
he should fight Malignaggi and pacman and call it a day.
Something makes me think he will want witter as well yetnahh witters definately a no no

I could see that.
He will fight Pac and Malignaggi in the US, but then if he fought Witter in England for his last fight he would make a load of money. Then call it day.
That would be good.
As well as that his style probably caused problems long term. He has been in hard fights and took a lot of punishment. I don't think he can last much longer.
I just wanna see him while hes around :boxing:

me too,great showman...
he does what he does and in general it works..
he will be a loss to boxing come retirement.
he has been a pro for 10 years, and coming up to 50 fights soon, approaching 30...
all great fighters taper off at some point, still respect for a solid performance though, pressure or what...

Your right there. Ricky fought the same fight, what was the idea of a new trainer!?
Mayweather would deffinatly beat him again, easily.
He does seem to be in a decline, has been for a while imo.
He needs to fire more, stop fucking holding!he has been a pro for 10 years, and coming up to 50 fights soon, approaching 30...

He should definetely stick with Manny P and Paulie.
I mean Mayweather will KO him again definetely without a shadow of a doubt.
Manny P would be a huge spectacle and with Manny moving up it is a winnable fight for Hatton. Paulie is my preference over Bradley as Bradley seems incredibly boring.
I think Bradley could give Hatton trouble.
