Watch how he completely insults james toney in this video, also he did the same shit to joe calzaghe when calzaghe beat a fighter before. It's the way the guy presents himself, he acts like a complete jack ass when he interviews fighters and tries to discredit a fighters win. I'm sure he has done these same kind of interviews with other fighters too, and in each interview you can tell the boxer he is interviewing gets pissed off at him. I love James Toney in this clip. They were celebrating the All-Century MLB team and Pete Rose got named, and Grey picks this time, out of all, to ask him "don't you think it's about time you admitted you were wrong and apologized to the fans?" Grey was doing his usual thing while interviewing Tszyu, and Tszyu politely put him in his place.

After the Tarver/Santiago (or maybe Muriqi, I think it is Santiago though) fight, he said something like, you got the job done, but really didn't look all that good, thoughts? I've seen him throughout his career be condescending not just to fighters. His best interview IMO was when he made Rodman cry and leave the interview in tears. Shit was funny as hell. i liked his interview with cory spinks when he mocked spinks' lack of ability to speak english

After the ceremony, Gray (who was covering the series for NBC) pointedly queried Rose about allegations of gambling on baseball, which he repeatedly denied: “ Jim Gray: Pete, now let me ask you. The truth is that he isn't the worst interviewer even on Showtime (Karen Bryant is dreadful), but he is the most obnoxious and disrespectful. My favorite pie in his face was when Kostya Tszyu said "please do not be rude to me".

Well... He's a bit of a smart-ass but at the same time he ain't afraid to say questions other interviewers won't. In short, he has a lot of balls because he tells it like it is but in the manner he does it he's a jackass. Take it as you may. He crosses the line between asking the tough questions and just being an ass.
