a boxer puts in 5 to 10 years of blood sweat and tears, and dedicates his life to a dream, and thats just the early years, his amateur career etc let alone the uncertain path of a proffesional career
an mma fighter(probably a twentysomething)buys an affliction t shirt, gets a forearm tattoo, headbutts his friend on youtube and comes to the conclusion hes randy couture!!

fan of both sports to be honest, but all this sport vs sport is rubbish
boxing is beautifull, mma is entertaining the difference lies therein.
God dayum mane!
lol everyone took that a bit seriously
MMA is a good sport and people have to train hard for it, but they dont go through anywhere near as much as a boxer over a 12 round fight
They still don't protect fighters like they do in boxing. In boxing it's so bad they will even protect mediocre talents so they build up nice undefeated records so they can make a third fighter look good. The referring is so bad it makes Japan's K1 judges look impartial and accurate. That's what's killing boxing. I hate how a fighter like Calzaghe can make it to p4p ranks the way he did, barely beating 43 year old Hopkins and fighting carefully chosen competition who never looked good vs solid opposition themselves! Calzaghe is not alone though. In fact MOST undefeated fighters go this path. The Germans perfected it and now it seems everyone will go this way. WHY WOULDN'T THEY?
To sum it up if you are lazy and my view of a quick simple fix to this problem: fighters should never have the right to choose who they fight. managers should be illegal in boxing. promotion and matchmaking should have a VISIBLE face IE UFC -> Dana White. The boxing bodies should be replaced by ORGS who would own the fighters under contract for a number of fights (AND NOT BY WHO THEY WOULD FIGHT). Only the best would reach these top ORGS and the rest would fight in minor ORGS hoping to jump on the the bigger ones. When two fighters of the same category are both held as the very best in the world and we can't really tell who the best and only in this case unification matches COPROMOTED would be held. Fighters would fight more than once per year. The contracts would range from 3 to 5 fights a year.
Yeah since alot of these guys have very successful wrestling, Muay Thai, and BJJ backgrounds, Some even competing in the olympics. I agree that it may be tougher to work your way up the ranks in boxing but in an mma fight there's so many ways to lose that if you go 15-0 your usually considered a very good fighter and most likely ranked fairly high.
IT WASNT A SERIOUS POST MATE,i have respect for both.
