we all know that the first fight he couldnt continue cos he couldnt breathe....and with the two performances he had afterwards, i dont think that the loss hurt him, or at least it shouldnt.
Really though... it was split 1-1 going into the third fight, and that fight was as razor thin as it could be.
Anyway, just as Vazquez only couldn't continue because of breating difficulties, Marquez lost the second fight by TKO when he was throwing punches back. Neither were particularly decisive.
It was the same guy coming up from the division below, and he lost once to him as well. I think Vazquez is very, very good, but losing to Marquez hurt him.

Vazquez just beat a fellow p4p fighter twice while Cotto, two damn good fighters who weren't even top 15 on the lists.

Hell, I think #4 would be warranted.
Both #4 Marquez and #5 Hopkins are coming off a loss, and I would think beating Mosley and Margarito back to back is enough to vault Cotto over Vazquez.

ok i was joking but in all seriousness i would put him at 8 and no lower. Cotto is there on the ring if i am correct.
Another question would be if Cotto wins where does that put him? 5?

An unranked fighter beating #7 (who has never beat a ranked fighter himself) would bump him up to #4? You will have to explain that one to me.
8-10 is what I would think.
You are probably correct Skills, mostly because the Williams fight will still be somewhat in the back of peoples' minds.

I'd put him at 4.
Mayweather
Pacquiao
Calzaghe
Margarito
What do you all think

He would be at 10 if he were to beat Cotto..........which he won't.
