What would be more impressive to you? If Cotto utilizes his boxing skills to isolate the relentless pressure Margarito brings. What if Cotto flips the script on Margo and out brawls him? Out pressures him?
Personally, I've followed Cotto's career pretty closely. I know Cotto has the skills to outbox Margarito, so I would be more impressed if he were to impose his will on Margarito. If he were to dominate Margarito and make him think twice about coming forward, it would send a message. He would have outbrawled, out muscled, out-Mexicaned the Mexican who's game is to do all that.
Cotto doesn't have the Boxing skills to outBox Margarito so that would be pretty impressive, but I went with brawling just because it's literally impossible.
hes a better boxer than margarito, so i would be impressed if he braweld and won. same if he fought floyd, id be more imrpessed obviously if he boxed and won
this fucktard for real man he don't know what the fuck he talks about.
that strait left hand in the 10 round was vicious....cotto dominated the 11 round and the 12 round he was trowing punches backwards.
seriously some bitches here are in denial.
that guy is what I call and e-tard! there are a lot of em on here.

I completely agree with your post, If he can muscle forward behind a blunt force trauma style jab and do what Kelly Pavlik did to Miranda I will be extremely impressed.
It doesn't matter how Cotto wins just fucking win. The same for Margarito. I truly feel a whole lot of yall inflating Cotto's boxing skill by epic proportions. I just think it will be a good fight for however long it lasts. One thing I know for a sure fact is that for what yall see as superior boxing from Cotto he will not be able to do that for 12 rounds and beat Margarito.

I think Cotto Should Box his way to victory if he cant brawl his way this time...
And I dont buy that Running Shit either, if he does Boxes..Because that means he is doing what any great boxer would do....
"BOX"
If avoiding punishment were the stuff of "track stars"
why do you find equipment in every boxing gym that improves head
movement?
Why do fighters wear ankle weights?
jump rope?
And simulate ducking punches when doing pad workouts?
If I threw something at your head, hopefully you would have the wherewithal to move out of the way. ...
Or
Would you Stand there get hit, and then throw something Back....?
Generally Speaking....
I think fighters only resort to fighting flat-footed because they have no choice. and boxers like Mayweather has plenty of options, so he doesnt stand flat footed...., instead he boxes on his toes, just like SRL, SRR, or ali..
So the question really is....?
Should he take punishment to give punishment...?
(Like fighters such Margarito)
Are Should he give Punishment and avoid Punishment..?
(as he is doing now....)
Nuff Said...
Cotto will impress me in this fight by both brawling and boxing. Cotto has both the style and power to make this fight an impressive showing of his skills. He also has the perfect oponent in Margarito a slow, easy to hit brawler who doesn't mind getting hit in order to land. Cotto has the mental game to not get flustered with Margarito's chin and wild flurries. He will chose when to brawl and when to box. This will be Miguels most impressive fight to date.
For me personally i think out brawling margarito is more impressive...especially since margarito has a chin of iron, a lot of power in both hands, and uses 1200+ punches a fight it would be more impressive to beat him at his own game; especially when margarito is so good at what he does and taking into consideration that cotto's chin has been questioned from time to time.
I think that would send a big, clear message to the entire welterweight division of who the tough guy is.
However i think for cotto to land a floyd fight it would be more impressive if he demonstrates great boxing and brawling ability...showing floyd and company he isnt a one trick pony (as floyd thinks he is).
Outboxing him will probably be what it comes down to in the later part of the fight (after both men have taken huge shots). Thats why i believe cotto will win is because he's a superior boxer to margarito and he doesnt HAVE TO out brawl margarito to win but margarito really only has one chance to win; out brawl him/knock him out...because if margarito doesnt get to him early and often cotto will win it on boxing ability down the stretch.
I'm a huge Floyd fan and by judging by his recent decisions, I seriously doubt Floyd would care how Cotto does as long as he wins and generates a lot of noise. I don't buy the whole, "you have to win impressively to earn a shot at me" mumbo jumbo. As long as Cotto can bring in PPV buys, Floyd will fight him.
I think if he boxes its all there for Cotto, but it would still be his top win. If he brawls him which i believe puts him at a slight disadvantage and wins that route i would be about as impressed, but I would view him as dumb for fighting Margs fight.
If he does both it would impress me most but it depends on the % he does both. If he started off boxing and frusterated Marg and then starting getting mroe and more aggressive as Marg got desperate and behind that would impress me alot. Also the opposite if Cotto started off brawling and stand up to Marg then slowly switch to boxing over the later rounds and hoepfully look better then he looked doing this against Mosley, that would aslo impress me a lot.
The only way that Cotto will impress me by outboxing Margarito is if he used some of Tye Fields' tactics. That way, it will be a guaranteed 120-108 UD by all judges for Cotto.
he ran like a bitch against mosly in the later roundz but i guess u call dat boxing :duh: watch round 10-12 again
this fucktard for real man he don't know what the fuck he talks about.

Ihe boxes and wins i will be impressed that he managed to outbox such a fierce guy. If he wins a brawl i will be impressed cause he outmuscled Margarito
Floyd would beat both imo so i hope he fights the winner. :)
If Cotto were to stop Margarito or beat him at his own game, It would benefit him and Boxing more than if he were to straight up Box him. A combination of both would be great.

I would think the Puerto ricans would rather see Cotto beat Margarito by fighting him toe 2 toe, Trinidad style. Thats one thing we have in common we like our fighters to be Warriors and not runners.
Boxing doesn't mean you are running.. great example of that is Jorge Linares.
