Check out part II of the interview we did with Nate Campbell. Where he discusses the purse split with Casamayor if part II happens, his fight with Juan Diaz, Lack of Consistency with the Judges, on Networks & Boxing in General, and finally his veiws on AMIR KHAN!
Check it out here!
I was just going to say everything you said sinatra! You just beat me to the punch. Boxing is a sport where 2 individuals are fighting each other, and sometimes people forget that....
It's like my old trainer used to say, "If it hurts too much, go do swimming."
Khan fighting Campbell or any other LW is a fool..
Trust me he's gonna fight for the WBO vacant title in the future just like Alex Arthur.. Warren has the WBO powers...
That was the difference in experience at work. There are ways to negate things like that. Not leaning in and giving your head as a target for one. I've seen a lot of guys who couldn't take the pressure like that, but usually they'll step back and petition the referee.
In a boxing ring, there are no excuses, no one is going to help you (Unless you are Yoan Pablo Hernandez, then the ref will pick you up). It is up to you in the ring to have the internal fortitude to negate whatever your opponent is doing to you.
Employing your thesis, that fighters who use rough house tactics should lose, Casamayor, Hopkins, Mayweather and Hatton would never win fights. They are blatantly a lot dirtier.

your right two HANDS...but if you go back and watch the fight...every time they got in close campbell rubs his head against his cut...and idk...but i would have a hard time focusing if some guy was rubbing his rough ass head...into a cut on my face...

Two men with two hands. If you can't defend yourself, you shouldn't fight. Boxing is a man's sport, not for the faint of heart.
The oddsmakers don't think Campbell should've gotten the win either. That's Juan Diaz's fault I guess.

well i dont think he should have beat diaz...diaz got a cut...and campbell focused on it...which i have no problem with...see a weakness attack it...but not when he rubs his head against it the rest of the fight...

Why do people mention this fight when it's ancient? He's since beaten Juan Diaz at 135 pounds.

Well, Campbell was 4-0 when he beat a guy 7-0, 5-0 and he beat a guy who was also 5-0. Very rarely do you see prospects fighting undefeated guys like that.
Also, Campbell has since moved up in class, Khan hasn't reached that stage yet.
Precisely why he wants to needs to fight Campbell, to move up in class. People also need to remember that while Khan has not fought the best fighters in the world, his record is very good for a prospect. He has only fought 4 people with losing records, while his last seven fights have been against people with large winning records. He knocked Earl out in 70 seconds, the same guy who Katsidis got knocked down by, and took 5 rounds to despatch.
Such hypocricy when everybody on this forum says that British fighters are protected and have not fought anybody, and when they do step up, they say they are not ready and need to have, and i quote "10-15 more fights before Khan is ready". After he beats Gomez, I believe he is ready to take on Campbell, whether he wins or loses, its a move he needs to take.

Nate Campbells first 17 fights.
Its a sad state of boxing that Nate Campbell can fight these 17 bums and end up being a boxing world champion. His way of thinking not mine.

"il send him back to his religion" whats all that about?
Just him talking trash the same way ali called frazier an uncle tom. If it gets under khans skin then khan should look for the fight and try to shut him up???:boxing:
He shouldn't be talking so lightly about Khan but Campbell is a smart family man, hes coming to the end of his career and can't afford to waste the situation hes got himself into, at 36 hes only got a few more fights in him so obviously money is going to be pretty high on the agenda.
Its a fight I'd like to see though, Campbell will keep on top of Khan and exploit his weakness of fighting on the inside, that the way to beat Khan IMO, but doing that for the majority of a fight may be a problem.
What? Who are you talking about?
Campbell and Trekas have steadfastly declined the opportunity and proclaimed that they want to unify the titles. “Nate doesn’t care about the money,” said Trekas. “It’s about pride, the pride of unifying the titles. Nate has WBO, the WBA and the IBF belt, therefore he is a ‘super’ champion under the WBO regulations. Casamayor is called the WBO ‘interim’ champion. Casamayor is his mandatory.
Sorry Khan, you're too green for Campbell. Why is this kid so obsessed with winning a title at an early age? I saw the documentary Amir Khan - His Story So Far, and I remember at the end Frank Warren basically said he's not ready.
I agree Khan is still too green, but if you keep calling the champs name the champ will respond.
