Short and Sweet Addie. Nothing else needed. I don't blow pseudo-intellectual highbrow BS in effort validate my desperate prognosis. That, Fanny, is your department. I am surprise you haven't been raped in this forum already with your grey poupon, village people routine. Since when is being a homo-erotic fight analyst a quality????
Your condescending style only works on 3 of the teenagers on this forum. With me? You gotta try harder kid.
So where was? Oh yeah... Cotto UD. You can back to your "sky is falling" hysterics like you did when Mosley was your hero vs Cotto. We all saw how right you were then:banana:
Do you feel condescended? That's what you're telling me.
You don't have a fucking thing to say on the subject, just a bunch of whiny crybaby nonsense about some shit nobody gives a motherfuck about.
This pussy shit is the definition of throwing rocks at the throne. ^ Am I some kind of overlord to you? Some kind of king? GTFO here, bitch..
Nobody has time or concern for your insecurities. You can't live up to a standard easily held by more than one person on this forum. You're a fucking joke, sucka. There are plenty of people here who have something for me. You should feel stupid and ashamed you don't have the guts or the intelligence to come with anything. Take your punk ass the fuck out of my thread, fool.. Fuck off.
You are blinded by your blatant hatred of anything Cotto. Your posts reek with BS you don't even believe. And if you do?? Ban yourself now.
You have NO credibility with me. You are willing to sacrifice reality so you can feel better until July 27th. Mark my words, Cotto CANNOT lose to a fighter like Margarito.
I think we are getting carried away here. Margarito has nothing for Cotto. Cintron and Cotto are on completely different levels.
You played this same BS with Cotto VS Mosley... blah blah the sky is falling!!! and ???
You were WAY off. Stick to Tennis.
If you think you can make a better argument then do so.
Stop crying and get down to business.
I didn't think that Cintron matched up well with Margarito, style wise. I don't view Cintron to be as durable as Cotto and while Cintron has excellent power from the outside, Margarito took that away by continuously closing up the distance. Cotto is much more heavy handed in close, with shorter more precise punches. But point taken Margarito is really tough.
Basically I think that Cotto can do what Clottey did, but more effectively with a greater array to his arsenal.
Of course it's academic, it's just what I'm figuring.
Good post. This is why I had Cotto winning when the fight was first announced. Addy however got me thinking otherwise. Now I'm 50/50. I sincerely hope your right. If he doesn't get past Marg he'll never get a fight with Mayweather.

Interesting, personally I cannot see Cotto doing anything like Clottey did. Cotto is no where near that athletic or explosive. But Cotto has suprised in the past and he seems to be on an upward arc. He has great momentum.

"How exactly is he going to do that though? When a guy is walking you down throwing and throwing and throwing what can you do about that? "
He's going to have to use his speed, he's going to have to use his jab and he's going to have to counter the right with the left hook, which if you study Margarito he's been consistently vulnerable to. And he's going to have to hit him hard enough to check his forward progress some, he won't stop him from coming in, but he'll need to break it up. And periodically he'll have to attack, which speaks to more global terms, as there are style issues here. Margarito is slower and punches wide, where as Cotto is quicker and has good power with the shorter punches. Also Cotto has better balance and timing. He'll use that to attack with combos, periodically in a measured way.
But by no means am I one of those who thinks that Cotto blows him out and certainly for me, this is one exciting matchup.
Did you see the Cintron rematch though? He was hitting Margarito with hooks, straights, overhands, uppercuts, ect, and it didn't slow him down at all.
And he was hitting him hard. Hard as hell.

Certainly with these 2 warriors a knockout can happen, but I have to think that there's a better than 50% chance that it goes the distance. I definitely think that Cotto will try to hurt him and indeed think that it will be necessary for Cotto to win. I don't see strategically Cotto going for a knock out. Hell he didn't even try that with Mosley. I think there will be hurt put down on both sides, but I think it will be fought more strategically and will likely go the distance.
I'm damned sure Cotto isn't going to try to do what Cintron did. He is not going to make himself that vulnerable.

That wasn't Cintron's idea, you can be sure of that.

I think perhaps Cotto is being underestimated to be honest.
Margarito cannot outbox him so I see Cotto giving Tony respect by fighting on the outside for the majority of the fight. I just think Cotto has a few more strings to his bow and can adapt better and more quickly, to do what needs to be done to win. I do concede however, there is still a slight concern on his chin. I think it will go to the cards with Cotto winning a UD.
Shapes up to be a classic though. :)
Paint a picture for me. How and why exactly do you believe Cotto is a masterful Boxer?
Forgive the question, but one year ago today nobody on planet Earth was talking like this. I'm very curious about this issue, and I've heard many people speak in these terms, not just yourself.

depends we all know margarito is not a ONE ko power puncher but he does trow good uppercuts something that cotto has been eating at welterweight.
cotto has a HUGE will and that's why i don't se cotto getting KO
Definately, I see Cotto standing up to alot of punishment if need be in terms of fighting through getting hurt or dropped. Just like Vargas.
Cotto is excellent at angles, that's a good point. He was moving extremely well in the Mosley fight and made it hard for Shane to land.
Do you think Miguel will get caught with a big punch?
If so, how do you see him taking Margarito's punches?

not foward but alot of movement..cotto believe it or not will use angles ala quintana-williams i see margarito trowing around 600-700 punches.
