Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer said he would meet in the next few days with Mayweather adviser Al Haymon to finalize the deal for Mayweather-De La Hoya II. De La Hoya said he was fine physically after his victory against Forbes -- despite a sore left hand and swelling around his right eye caused by a hairline fracture of a facial bone. De La Hoya had an MRI after the fight and a follow-up exam Monday. "I was very concerned about my eye and my hand, but after a couple of days of rest and ice, the swelling has gone down," De La Hoya said Thursday. "There is a hairline fracture but nothing serious. It will just take some rest."

o ya he got a good beating on his face
His eye did look pretty beat up, I guess lil' Forbes does have some pop after all.
can you imagine what Floyd will do with the considerably more pop that he has over Forbes?
I smell stoppage especially if Oscar fights the same way
Wlad got caught but unlike Lewis, Wlad actually had the HEART to keep getting up, Lewis was KO'd and counted out by ONE punch against Rahman and McCall.
Sanders got lucky against Wlad
No way man, watch this video.
I know people annoy you with it all the time, but go to 2:14 and 1:04 of the first round, and Sanders is already landing that left hand fairly flush. It wasnt just one big punch out of nowhere that changed the fight. besides, Klitschko got time to recover between the first and second rounds, yet he continued to eat punches.
One big punch is much, much more of a fluke than an accumulation of punches...
and Forbes is a better fighter than freakin Ibragimov. people(including me) seem to forget that Forbes was coming off of upset wins over D Hopkins and Bojado prior to the Oscar fight.
and losing to Grady Brewer is just as embarressing as Drawing with Ray Austin...
although I will agree with you that it is very surprising that Forbes was able to do that much damage to Oscar. Oscar is at the end of his career, there is no doubt about that.
Forbes is a C/C+ level fighter at best with no power and he managed to be competitive with Oscar, mess up his face and fracture his eye.
Oscar is way past his prime, he would've easily stopped Forbes in his prime.
Floyd making a rematch with the washed up, past prime Oscar is a disgrace.
thank you :fing02:
That happened most likely from when De La Hoya's actual eye got poked and he mad that weird face and squinted real hard during the middle of the fight. it wasnt a punch it was a thumb or something
Forbes is a dangerous orthodox boxer, former super featherweight champion with good power, great handspeed and is extremely defensive....Ibragimov has nothing on Forbes.
Oscar dominated Forbes and shut him out, Oscar's face was fine at the end of the fight.

are you serious. Lucky is what happened to hasim when he ko'd lewis with one punch. Wlad was getting hit almost every 10 seconds with good shots, he also went down 3-4 times how is that luck

Sanders was an extremely hard puncher dangerous southpaw with great handspeed and he got lucky, fluked out and caught Wlad, Wlad wins that fight 999 times outta 1000 and destroys Sanders in a rematch.

no way forbes fought very well that night, he would of gave any top fighter problems
And I don't believe a hairline fracture is a representation that Oscar is 'past it', the punch was just damn good and mad freaky from Steve.
It was a very unusual punch. Anyone could have landed that on anyone.
No surprise of course. The shot that caused it went directly into the socket at a weird angle. It wouldn't take alot of pressure or force to cause the damage. The edge of the glove lanced right in there.

He did not get lucky, and Wlad did not in any way want a rematch with Corrie. Look boxing there is no luck in this sport, and how many times did the man drop Wlad? you cant just call that luck.
Like I said he was a C Level fighter who was knocked out by Rahman for god sakes, this isnt to knock Wlad by any means this is simply being argued to prove a point, C Level fighters can sometimes rise above the odds and get it done history has proven this.
Hey man, Corrie Sanders was a C level fighter and he destroyed Wlad Klitschko:owned:

Stop being an idiot RIZOOM.
Forbes is a C level fighter
Oscar was a great fighter, but his best days are behind him now, Floyd will easily beat Oscar in the pointless rematch.
And don't fuck around with my post this time.

Whats funny to me is how all the Floyd fans continue to discredit DLH saying he aint shit, he is shot, this that and the other, but when Floyd wins again watch them turn it into the biggest win in the history of the sport, this win in their eyes will be worth more than gold.
its sad that they dont even see how pathetic they really are.
