looks like a completely different person, he's ripped, hopefully it serves him well, it's tough doing what he's doing.
You are the only one besides me that has picked George so far.
what a damn shame....ppl must be sleepin on shaun george.....i see ur one of the smart ones
Light Heavyweight Boxer, Chris Byrd (175 Ibs.) Sparring
Mixed Martial Artist and International Fight League Welterweight
Champion, Jay Hieron (170 Ibs.)
LOL! That is a Photoshop, and not a very good one. Let's just ignore the fact his head is a different shade than the rest of his body just for a second. When you drop weight your entire body looses weight as well, including your face. Compare the body to the face, it just does not match.
On a side note, I am interested to see how Byrd does at Lightheavy. I have always been a fan of his.
If his sparring sessions are any indication of what he will bring to the table, he will have brought very little power down to 175. The best fight he can hope to fight will be to replicate Calzaghe's style of coming forward with lots of flurries, and Byrd's legs aren't young enough to do that.
Byrd's best punch is still the straight left to the body. That is the main weapon that he has. If that can be neutralized, so to can Byrd's power game.
Trust me on this, Shaun George will pull off this upset.
Byrd has always been an underrated body puncher.
this should be an interesting one! no telling what mental state byrd is in.
any of you talking heads want to bet on this fight?

I want odds.
Byrd still can't punch and will be shocked how much faster his opponents are compared to the heavyweights he's been fighting.
Since I haven't seen him fight at that weight it would be called speculation. Actually I like Chris Byrd. On the other hand, I don't like you even a little bit. :asshole:

How do you know he can't punch at 175?

...He looks like shit IMO. His wife now clearly outweighs him.
i think losing so much weight is not gonna help his power even at light heavy. his stamina may suffer also. plus he will still not be as fast as the top guys at lhw either. i am thinking he is not gonna do all that great, but i may be wrong.
He's going against Shaun George who is a very well-schooled boxer/puncher with excellent foot and hand speed. Factor that with the fact that Byrd is looking past his first opponent and we have the makings for an upset.
