I see it like this. Paul Williams had that First title defense-syndrome.
Some guys go through that. Paulie Malignaggie went through it. He won the IBF title and waited around for his next fight calling out all the big stars and all he got was Ngoudjo? Paulie struggled with him.
The same with Williams, the guy beats Margarito, is supposed to have a unification with Cintron but Kermit the frog pulls out claiming injury. Floyd didn't want any part of him. Cotto didn't mention his name once.
Then he signs up to fight Quintana??? A Cotto victim.
Exactly. Williams was reading about how everyone feared him and Quintana fought the fight of his life. Williams will make the needed adjustments and get his title back, assuming he can make weight without killing himself.
paul williams isn't a better fighter then what we saw, when he beat margo he had an opponent that isn't going anywhere, quintana has a different style, hence the old boxing axiom styles make fights.he was outboxed and he'll get outboxed again.
I think perhaps your just saying this becuase you have running bets!!
To his credit Willimas isnt easily hurt, you saw that against margarito and quintana, so you have to stay on your toes against him for 12 rounds, thats the only danger I see for Quintana, he seemed pretty damned tired in the closing rounds.
Well I acutally think that Williams is a much better fighter than what we saw last time, and like I said to me it looked like Williams thought it would be an easy night, take nothing from Quintana he fought a perfect fight, but I also think that Williams lack of work in the gym played a factor as well.

please tell what he'll do that he didn't do in this fight.
Williams can win if he jabs a lot more and cuts off the ring instead of just following Quintana around and windmilling punches and hoping they connect.

wow.you guys should actually be judges.that's just the kinda scored cards crooked ass judges come up with.

The same question was asked months ago with Williams vs (insert welterweight name here).
Apparently he was too big, too busy work rate, great conditioning and great chin for anybody to beat him.
Those are the attributes that he will bring in the rematch. Quintana isn't unbeatable and I believe Williams has the ability to adjust and get a victory.
I got Williams by 116-111, 115-113 type scores.
Rarely do I ever agree with you but 116-111 seems about right! I dont think Paul took Quintana seriously the first time, that is not something you do as a champion, everybody you fight will want that title I think Paul will learn from this.
However I am a bit in the minority here when I say he might not be able to make the weight anymore either which would explain why he looked like shit the last time, perhaps he dehydrated himself down to make weight and paid for it during the fight.
LMAOOO
Quintana will look at Fields, shit his trunks and take a dive.
Yeah, Quintana would've won a decision and then he hears that Tye Fields is gonna be in the corner for the Punisher. Williams wins by a stare-down KO. The ref will ask "Any questions from the chief second?" and Fields will say "Yeah-" and before he can say anything else, Quintana pisses himself and runs out the ring. The force of Tye Fields' voice will be too much for Carlos.
quintana isn't margo,he's gonna move like he did with cotto and julio and williams.williams wins rounds piling on the punchstap numbers, and to do that you actually have to land and to land you have to catch you're opponent.

its not out of the question its always possible for someone to avenge a loss, but a loss that one sidedly I dont know! perhaps he should fight with his hands up and stay outside instead of going after Carlos.
Who knows, my question about Williams is, Was the Margarito win a fluke? I mean that was a close fight and Honestly I dont think Quintana is better than Tony, or perhaps I just aint giving enough credit to Quintana, its kind of hard to after Cotto murdered him.
It really boils down to having faith in William's ability to learn from his mistakes. He hasnt been tested in the same manner Quintana tested him. Margo only tested his endurance and focus because he was applying constant pressure. Quintana is obviously a better boxer than Margarito so Quintana presented a puzzle for Williams to attempt to solve. Experience will now be key for Williams as he goes into the rematch with more knowledge on what Quintana will do and HOPEFULLY, Williams will understand why he has some of the best advantages in this division.
