Margarito did not get outclassed, or outboxed in the Williams fight, he lost the fight himself for waiting so damn long to pick up the pace. Williams was busier and he outscored Margarito, simple as that. He looked hungrier than Margarito that night and I gotta give him credit for that, but to put down Margarito for that loss you gotta be a Tony hater or a biased, stupid and delusional Rican. Margarito landed the bigger bombs on Williams and he held on Tony like a fucking squid the last 4 rounds of the fight, all bloodied up with cuts, busted lip and a bloody nose. Use some plain and basic common sense WILL YA?? you a clown.williams was not holding like a fucking squid like you say he outboxed and out landed tony, there was nothing wrong with williams mouth in the fight and atleast 90% of the people thought margarito loss and in margarito's fight with clottey atlest 50% of the people thoght he lost.no hate on margaritto but he did lose to williams and barly beat clottey

pretty cool i guess. i dont know about fight of decade. The marquez/vasquez fight was awesom so i dont know about fight of the year but it DEFINETLY has the promise to be a great fight and out do those fights This fight will generate more attention because these are bigger fighters who will be on HBO and the winner is the frontrunner to face Mayweather. The best Vasquez-Marquez could have led to was Ponce De Leon.

How can you haters not like or respect Tony, he is one class act son of a bitch. Always ready to fight and gives his fans what we want to see. He might not be the most humble Mexican Warrior out there, but he knows what he is worth and is confident enough to take any of the top 5 Welters and win against any of them. He haven't faced any of the top 5 WW and he loss to the #6 (PW):nonono:

Love Margarito's confidence but talk is cheap and we'll see if he can deal with Cotto's speed and footwork..

Margarito's very classy, good stuff Thats what I thought, for some reason I had the impression he was abit of a dick, but he had plenty of opportunity to slag his perspective opponents off and didn't, actually seems like a nice fella, I wonder if I can get his number. :ugh: j/k

After my loss to Paul Williams, I told my wife and team that I would become a world champion again. JA: You looked very confident going into that fight. Did you know that it was going to be an easy fight for you? AM: No, not at all. Although it might have looked easy, I had to work very hard. Cintron was taking some devastating punches, but was not going down. He had a big heart and I have to give him some credit. JA: Now that you're IBF Champion, you are faced with a similar situation that you were in before the Paul Williams fight. We all know that there's a mega-fight in the works with Miguel Cotto, but the IBF is requiring a fight with mandatory number one contender Joshua Clottey, a guy that you obviously have history with. Will you relinquish the belt in order to fight Cotto or has another alternative been discussed? AM: Yes, the belt will have to be relinquished. It was a condition given to us from the IBF since Cintron had already been given permission to defend his belt against a non-mandated opponent in his prior fight. I have to either defend my belt against Joshua Clottey or be stripped. JA: Speaking of the fight with Cotto, there have been reports that the Cotto camp still hasn't signed the contract. Do you know the reason why they have not agreed to the terms of the fight as of yet? AM: True, Cotto has not signed the contract. From what I've been told by many Puerto Rican sources, Team Cotto wants to be well compensated for this fight. They feel it is a very tough fight, a fight that they believe they can lose, and if that's going to be the case, Cotto wants to get paid. To be honest, I do not blame Cotto for this. Fighters continue to get paid well as long as they keep winning. Who knows how much less Cotto will get paid when he loses? JA: Did you see Cotto's performance against Alfonso Gomez and if so, what did you think of his performance? AM: I did see Cotto's performance. Cotto is a great fighter. He is strong, quick, and very intelligent. He played with Gomez. Not too many people were happy in the manner that he fought some of the rounds. I guess some people were upset with what they thought was showboating. I thought Cotto did what he had to do to take Gomez out. I did not feel that Cotto was showboating. He knew he was the dominant fighter in there, became comfortable with position and carried Gomez for an extra round or two to give his people more of a show. JA: Have you already started training for the Cotto fight? AM: I am training here in Mexico, but not with the same intensity when I train in Los Angeles. I'm currently training to maintain a good weight and enough condition to get me ready for the intense training which will begin in two weeks. JA: How do you see the fight between you and Cotto playing out? AM: It will be a great action-packed fight between the two best in the division. Now this is a fight worth paying to watch. JA: I just want to ask you about some of the other fights that are coming down the line in the welterweight division. What do you think is going to happen in the fight between Shane Mosley and Zab Judah later on this month? AM: I believe Mosley is the better fighter, but Zab might be the hungrier fighter. Mosley is on the way out and Zab has a lot to prove. To be honest, this fight will probably be a long, boring event. JA: And what are your thoughts on the rematch between Paul Williams and Carlos Quintana? AM: I was really surprised to watch Paul get beaten the way he did. Quintana fought the perfect fight. Although I believe Quintana can win this fight again, I don't know if he will. I think you'll be seeing a more aggressive Paul Williams who will go out to punish Quintana. Quintana fought a great first fight with Paul, but he'll need to be better. I certainly believe Paul will. JA: Is there anything that you want to say to the fans as far as what they can expect from Antonio Margarito in the future? AM: First, I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my career. I want everyone to tune in July 26th. alex de who? Alex "El Pollo" DeJesus, hes a prospect from Puerto Rico. Hes 17-0 with 11 KOs. But like i said, hes a prospect. Hes also a jr. welterweight. I cant believe his name was even brough up with Mayweather and as if hes a better candidate than Cotto or something. DeJesus' biggest win was against Arturo Morua. He fought him on telefutura and it was a pretty rought fight for him but a good experience he won a UD. He recently looked good against Wilfredo Negron on the Calderon-Dieppa undercard KOing him in the last round i think it was. But Morua and Negron are nothing special. DeJesus is still just a prospect who needs to be really tested. He is good thought and im a fan of his, im just being realistic. Hes a fast powerful southpaw. But he has been known for slacking off and being out of shape at times. He recently hired a nutririonst. You thought you knew......but you had no idea....that was the life...of Alex DeJesus

Biggest match up now for me is Alex De Jesus vs Floyd Mayweather in MSG.Cotto has to sharopen up he hasnt looked too good in awhile. is this a joke? DeJesus has nothing on Mayweather right now. DeJesus had a rough fight with Arturo Morua for christ sake. Cotto destroyed Quintana, i remember you going for Quintana in that fight. He beat Judah and Mosley and toyed with Gomez. And you say the bigger match is DeJesus vs Mayweather? Im a big fan of El Pollo too man and i got my eyes on him....as a pretty much untested prospect who has had a lack of discipline in the past. Although i did get word he worked with a nutrtionist for the Negron fight in which he looked good. But DeJesus-Mayweather is a joke right now man. Cotto is sharper, better, stronger, more accomplished, bigger than DeJesus. Clearly a bias or hating opinion, im not sure which one, maybe both.
